    New computer - seeking advice

    Hello all,

So my birthday is the 14th December, and questions are already being asked about what I may be wanting.

I Would quite like a new computer. I'm normally a laptop user, but i would quite like a new desktop PC. I am looking for something along these lines:

    • Under £2000
    • Strong performer for Multimedia & Gaming (DSLR camera editing & gaming)

    Any suggestions chaps?

    Thanks,

    Sub

Do you want a prebuilt system, or are you looking into building your own? It is quite easy, and if I could sway you that way, I would. It allows you great customization and is very cost effective. If not, £2000 is quite a large sum of money, and can get you a great prebuilt for that amount. I am assuming you need a monitor, keyboard, and mouse too, right?

Yeah the full package, computer scree, etc everything

Ideally a pre-built system, I like messing with cars and motorbikes but not PCs :)

With a budget of £2000 you could basically buy a monster of a desktop top of the line material, just walk into a pc store and tell them your budget and what your after and let the magic amaze you haha

For 2000 pounds you could probably run a crossfired AMD Radeon setup. Also ensure that your PC has an SSD as well as a HDD, as the SSD allows for a much faster load time for any files that are on that drive. If you have that much money to blow, I'd also spend the extra and get 32GB of RAM, as it means you'll probably never have to upgrade it in the future, and that means that your build will survive longer without needing an upgrade. There are many online web-stores that allow you to select parts you want added to your PC, then they build it and ship it. I personally would encourage you to purchase the parts yourself, then either build it personally, or go to a PC store and pay them to assemble it for you.

That might be an idea, will have a look and see. Not sure about doing the parts myself though!

Intel with Nvidia graphics card > Over any other build. I absolutely hate builds with like Intel and ATI or AMD with Nvidia, it pisses me off soo much. Core i5 with a quad core and hyperthreading is boss.
