EVOLOTION OF COMBAT [Runescape Crashing?]

Hi sythers.

I would just like to know is runescape going to crash one eoc is out? i heard that 70% of people are quitting, if jagex know this why are they releasing it?.

what are your thoughts?.

i think everyone will stay for a bit see if the eoc is worth it if not im guessing 50% or more will be quitting, i myself will stay till my membership runs out then probably quit if its not worth it anymore

 

Exactly what i'm doing going to test it out for a day or two, but i've heard talk about trade limit coming back if it is then most people will quit. why are jagex doing this? when they know people will quit. 0.0

 

Trade restrictions aren't coming back and a lot less than 70% will quit.

It's stupid when people pluck stats like that out of the air, there is no way you could even guess how many players will quit...

The reason they are going ahead with it is because the game needs to evolve or it will stagnate. They had the training academy and got player feedback from that, they obviously decided the feedback was positive enough to keep the update.

 

I don't think that very many people will quit. In the long run, EoC is good for the game because it varies game play. The people complaining about it is a minatory that fears change or they don't understand the reason behind the change. I had my doubts about the EoC initially, but after the last Jagex live stream that addressed a lot of issues I had, like prayer not fully protecting you, I am willing to give it a try.

 

Long story short.
Why would Jagex want to kill their own game and loose a lot of money?
So in my eyes there are 2 possibilitys:
1) Jagex thought it through, and they decided it will be good for the game (and amount of players ofc) in long term, despite some people quiting.
2) Jagex is extremely dumb, and throws away their own money.

Besides for every player that quits because of eoc, 2 more new players will join Runescape.

Furthermore, that player can never really fully quit Runescape.

Where have you heard anything about trade limits? they're not returning..

No offence but what is this thread? where are your sources from? 70% are going to quit? That is complete made up.. You will probably get some people quitting however It will balence out with the new people that will come from the update. When trade limit came out everybody got in with riots and shit but not alot of people quit atall.. It's just going to be that all over again.. Everyone is going to get worked up over it and nothing will happen.

 

That was just R2 saying there was small rumor of it but that he didn't believe it to be true, it's definitely not going to happen. They surely would have warned us if such a gigantic thing was happening.

 

People will quit, of course. But lots of people who moved on to other games will start playing again probably and a new player base will start to play. Veterans just don't like change.

 

Alot of old players including me who dislike the direction runescape is heading will quit. Guessing by the thousands of negative posts/replies on the runescape forums and thousands of dislikes/negative comments on eoc youtube vids, at least %35 of what's left of runescape's playerbase will quit.

If anyone remembers after the first bot nuke there where only around 30k players online (the rest where bots that couldn't log in)

TL;DR RIP runescape, find another game or play a private server.

 

What source tells you that 70% of RS players will quit after the EOC? I'm sure a few people will get pissed off and quit, but that's normal with updates in any game.

How many Runescape players does it take to change a lightbulb?
- One team of Jagex staff to screw in the lightbulb, and 20,000 players to bitch about how the old lightbulb was better than the new one.

I've been on RS since 2004 and I don't mind change. Yeah, I miss some older things from earlier times, but the game will continue to change. People think complaining will change the fact. It won't. Having riots in Falador is just annoying. Yes, we're what make the game, but in order for our voice to be heard, the majority of people who pay to play would have to object and boycott RS, and that'll never happen.

 

lol 70% where did you get that figure? its completely unrealistic to think everyone will quit.

 

Most people will most likely quit, some not sure will stay for a bit to see if its worth it. If there is a bot nuke and bots going down for a while too runescapes fucked. Gf Jagex

Edit: About the trade limit rumour too, are Jagex trying to lose players?

 

It will be at least a month for combat related bots to come back, maybe 2 weeks for people to start releasing scripts for other shit. Even though jagex is retarded, they aren't retarded enough (at least I hope) to re introduce a trade limit like they did in 2007.

 

If you're going to make a rant thread at least spell Evolution correctly haha.
It's basically what GodGenesis said, for every 1 person that quits, 2 or more will eventually join Runescape and take their place. I honestly wouldn't be surprised also if half the people that are saying they're quitting will just go ahead and renew their membership on the 21st of November when their bandwagon disappears.

 

Most of the people bitching just don't want to handle change, but they will. And most of those haven't even tried the beta.
