For the record, according to Mage's article, the planet has a gravity of about 0.96 g's. ;)

Different planet, but yeah. Shows how gravity works heh.

The planet I posted would kill you with the intense heat and pressure!

Yea the g force would be about the same as if you were driving a car at 60 mph. Idk why everyone was arguing about gravity when they didn't care to look it up and obviously did'nt know what they were talking about.

back to the topic of colonizing (im going to be pretending we can make it there) If we start out on a planet with alot of scientific advantages in solar power we would have a hard time fucking up a planet 7 times larger then earth especially since I would assume we would start out with a small population.

I don't understand how navigation could be so accurate in any sort of speed-of-light-travelling-craft-type-thing that we'd be able to pinpoint and travel exactly where we want to go. It's not like there's GPS on this 'Super Earth', or even in the rest of the Universe, yet... and considering the fact that it's 823459 light years away, that's a lot of ground, not literally, to cover. I feel like it's pure fantasy. Sure, let's send humans, who have the intelligence of HUMANS, given the fact that they're HUMAN, to get lost in our several billion dollar spacecraft. Lol, I'm not sure what I'm even talking about, but it's all so very entertaining. ;)

No. If we ever are able to travel near the speed of light, that would make anything we've sent out previously not matter since by traveling at the speed of light would cause you to pass them. I don't know how to explain what I mean..

I get what you're saying, and you do have a point. But again, my focus here is more on how an encounter with e.t. life should be handled. More specifically, would it be right for us to intervene in their lives in any way (supposing they're less developed than us)?

We would need to be extremely careful, we could destroy entire ecosystems with something like a virus we brought along.
