I know some of you are getting off right now because I am banned, but you know there is that whole community development team thing that is having applications right now, and I really don't think having me banned during that is going to look very professional for the site.

People "advertise" shit in the spam forum all the time, and if it really got your panties that knotted you could've deleted it and gave me a warning, this is just pathetic.

So yeah, can I be unbanned now? It's unprofessional for com dev (which I know no one on staff gives a shit about, also pretty pathetic), and it's a petty ban anyways.

 

It may not look professional and yes you may have a thread for community development applications. That doesn't mean you can break rules simply because you think you'll get away with them. You've been a member of the forum for over a year now, so you should know the rules very well.

I'm inclined to agree with him and definitely feel an advertising ban is too harsh.
The entire thread consisted of nothing but a link to the website, no advertising speech, no "join this website for reason X & Y" no nothing, just a link.

 

How many times has grave been allowed to advertise his RSU thing? A ban is much too harsh for that. Besides, his site isn't another forum, it doesn't compete for the same kind of activity that Sythe.org uses. If we're going to start banning for advertising shopping websites, we need to clarify first instead of making an example out of x339 imo.

Yeah I'd probably say the 1 month ban was too much. Make a sticky clarifying the rule etc and then it's all good. It is unfair to make an example out of x339, especially without him knowing about it.
