EVO: Boxing

I have a maxed cb account and a membership and 20mil ready to be used for staking (boxing) I plan to start the membership at the start of EVO.

Will people be boxing? And what will it be like, will it work?

I'm sure people will still be boxing, but why are you waiting so long until you apply the membership? Why not just box now?

I want to say that dueling will have a new thing you can choose to allow abilities or not allow them...

Then you would just box with out without. Just a guess, obviously.

 

Yeah it's confirmed that boxing will still be possible. You can turn off abilities so it's still just a 50/50 shot with no real skill involved. The interesting thing is that the introduction of abilities may finally introduce skill-dependent staking to Runescape, where people are actually willing to bet on their skill rather than luck.

 

Yeah i would love staking if it was actualy skill versus skill. Would make for epic and exciting battles.

 

People think it will be skill vs. skill but players will find the best way to make abilities work and make it into a science.

 

I totally agree with this post. Once there is the "best" formula then everyone will be doing that.

I hope it can just stay like normal without the abilities/adrenaline on.

 

There's no doubt in my mind that Rune Wiki will offer a Calculus based algorithm to the "science" behind waging skills between your opponent. I, too believe that this would be a stellar update to Runescape.

Why don't you start the membership now, that way you can compare staking in EoC and now?
Also, i hear you can use the "Momentum" ability for it to be just normal combat, which is probably what boxing will require.

Yes, people will be boxing... and I think a lot more people because things such as rapier staking, etc. won't be so simple anymore (pid + ticks). That's just my opinion... you can test it out in the beta to get a better idea of what it will be like.

 

As with all new updates, there will be glitches with eoc - glitches to be taken advantage of in the DA; I advise waiting a bit before going balls deep.
