How did Sythe.org become so popular?

I was just wondering about a few facts of the site. How did it become so big? Did it hit the ground running? How long has it been around?

Has been around quite a while, I remember I used to lurk a few years ago, and personally I believe the scam rate etc has decreased dramatically. Very much a community forum as much as it is a trade (both RL and RS mostly) forum.

 

There are many forums, this one has been around for 7 years and has been legit. Other forums are corrupt so now people know it's legit, sadly many users are ban evaders / that can't be proved yet .

 

The release of RS2 really helped get this site off the ground which is how it got such a big user base.

 

Sythe has a long history behind it beginning with simple macros made for RS and a small group of people. You'll have to do your own research on that though!

Over time, it just became known as a long-standing, and arguably one of the most professional RS black markets.

Not to mention back way when, the RS black market exploded during many different events which I'm sure impacted the popularity.

Do a little Google searching, this stuff is archived/documented all over the internet.

 

No other blackmarket gaming trade sites do it like Sythe.org... That's what I'll tell you right now.

It has. I'm struggling to find topics to post on.

 

According to some knowledgeable members here, Sythe is actually declining atm :/

But from what I've heard, the first reason that it got off the ground so quickly was beccause Sythe made rs bots or scripts, which quickly became popular and because of the well established system

 

It started off with botting mainly. Before Sythe their was RuneCMS, which was pretty much all about RS botting from what I recall, and then Sythe eventually branched into making his own website, Sythe.org for bots and shit of his own creation. A blackmarket was added, and tons of members began flooding in.

 

RuneCMS, and then sythes powerminer. I owned the powerminer in 06', but I didn't actually sign up for the forums properly until 09'. Could have been a proper oldschooler.

 

I used to love just posting on the forums and making friends. People used to go for post count and gather posts, others used to just sell their services and that's how I remember it. It was good fun, the community sure was something back then.

I lurked the Sythe back in the day, I dont remember much though.

I love the use of the wayback machine.

 

People googled Runescape cheating and this was the result I believe.

The nostalgia of this site is amazing. I did a little trading etc around 2006. Buying membership from this site via rs gold because i had no credit card or anything back in 2006. Selling some small services but now i don't even play runescape and im mostly in the other parts of the forums.

 

I remember RuneCMS, I used to browse the forums back when I botted rsc.
Should have been around 08 or something. Back when ReiNet was up.
Basically, no other site can really compare to the community at sythe.
imho.

 

Crazy, but we've been going well since 2005 I guess. Sythe himself is from early 05.

 

Sythe actually predates 05, the name and idea anyways.
