Sythe.org Counter-Strike 1.6 Server

Kewl gonna join sythe server for sure !

 

It's just a pub server. Who cares if it's at a 0 sec delay.

i wish i had cs1.6 if i get it when i get paid friday you better still have this going!

 

Server's up for another couple months at least. Might renew if it becomes popular, but as of right now it's not looking good.

I'll address your concerns as I read them.

Map selection/mapcycle: Train, be it a "scrim" map, is still a fairly popular and played map among more experienced players (such as myself). I refuse to only run FY/AIM/Fun maps in the rotation. I will gladly add maps by request, and you can easily "votemap" without the presence of an admin. Once I get my PC running again (Sunday hopefully) I'll be keeping a close eye on the server via HSLW, so if people join, I can at least communicate with them through RCON/HLSW and assist in map changes and such when necessary.

More Admins: I will not "give" admin to those whom I haven't played with and trust, as doing so may result in abuse which will only further hinder the growth of the server by giving it (AND SYTHE) a bad name. I am however, selling slots to help cover my out-of-pocket costs for the server as a whole. These admin slots are subject to removal without notice or refund in the case of abuse. There will be ZERO tolerance for such behavior.

Idling in the server: I did this for 2 weeks straight, and didn't help. I now get on when I want to play, then get off when I'm done.

I was in the server for about 3 hours earlier, and only 1 person joined. I destroyed his face, and he called me a hacker and left.

Thanks for addressing all my points. I added you on MSN as it would be easier to now if your online/offline. I am busy today but tomorrow or throughout the week I will have free time here and there.

P.S Try to be easier on noobs lol. Let them get some kills once in a while :laugh:.

 

I'll enable the amx_votemap for standard users as well, that way it makes it a little easier for users to change the map. I'll look into that right now.


Edit: You can now use the console command "Amx_Votemap 'mapname'" to vote for a map in the absence of an admin.

ex. amx_votemap fy_iceworld2k de_dust2 aim_headshot

Above example would create a vote for the maps: fy_Iceworld2k, de_dust2, and Aim_Headshot. (mind you minimum is 1, maximum is 4)

This also applies to "amx_votekick" as well, in the instance of a disruptive player.

Ex-CAL O/M/IM/P player. Spent a LOT of time on CS, and even had the opportunity to play with and learn from some of the greats from 3D/coL way back in the day. My skill now is trash in comparison to what it once was.

IS this server still online how do i get on I love cs 1.6 I have a spare steam account for sell as well if anyone wants a legit one.

 

It is online and all you need to do is add the IP under your Favorites bar or simply type "connect <IP>" in the console.

Just so everyone is aware, all the CS games are on offer on Steam at the moment.

 

I join the server every once in a while.

Unfortunately, I never seem to join when someone else happens to be on the server.

Perhaps we should do some sort of event in order to get the less-populated Sythe venues such as this one more active? Right now seems to be the most opportune moment, due to the current Steam Counter-Strike promotion.

 

n4n0, where the server is based? because many peoples over the sea will have a lot ping... If its based on Europe i will be more than happy to share my experience as ex- esl administrator and help with everything i can
