Does Jagex IP Ban?

I am thinking about doing a large advertising on RS but wanted to know if using the spamming bots would ban my IP?

 

I don't think so, though they will definitely flag it and keep an eye on all accounts on that I.P for rule breaking and stuff.

 

If they IP banned people, they'd just get new IP addresses. There was a case where a bot company were banned from ever playing any JaGeX games again, but I don't know that they've ever IP banned someone.

 

Yeah, several pmods have come to warn us about our advertisements, they can IP mute/you, so your best choice would be rotating your IP.

I remember reading once that they said they do NOT IP ban, this is because if you got banned at say, a University, then the entire Uni network would also be banned (or something like that?)

Hardware IP bans are different, but I know little about them.

 

They can, but they won't. They would rather just permanently ban you in hopes that you create a new account. New accounts equals more money for them. I have heard that bug abusers and hackers do get IP banned though, but it's really not a problem. All you do is turn off your router for 2 hours and when you turn it back on, you'll have a new IP address.

 

Unless you have a static IP.

But no I remember (don't quote me, this was a few years back), Jag stated that they don't IP ban as people could have siblings, play on public PCs etc etc. But be sure all of the accounts associated with that IP will be flagged and monitored.
