It starts with two, but it'll be a downhill roll once the other states start seeing how much tax revenue they get off it. We could probably cure this nations debt with federally legal pot and some nice taxes -_-

We are living history i find this amazing i have goose bumps all over! I have a feeling the feds are going to freak the fuck out but i think that eventually they will go away. This always was an unwinable war but now that 2 states have it legal and several others have medical marijuana i don't see how they could do much. They need to swallow their pride and go bust some meth labs.

If the prices they're charging are high then there is still going to be drug deals etc selling the stuff.

I think it's not so much the businessmen that even matter in the drug trade, the grow operations will jump and get licensed.

The price will decrease significantly with legalization. Most of the cost in growing is due to prohibition and once growing is legal people can do it in bulk and sell for less.

Does anyone see that the cons have/always will outweigh the pros? Just like when they thought legalizing alchohol was a great idea, then here we are with alcohol playing a huge impact in people's lifes as well as the people around them.

The misuse of a few should not spoil it for everyone else.

Civil liberty is extremely important.

 

It's bound to be legal federally, it's honestly just a matter of time. I know PA lost the legalization of marijuana a few years back by only a matter of a few votes, so it's going to become legal in more and more states until the government realizes that it's nothing they should be wasting there money on, and just figure out how to tax it, and let people live there lives, growing it, smoking it, ect.

 

I think you're underestimating the real number of those "few" people. I also think, I'm sorry scratch that - Know that a lot people don't really use marijuana for "medical" reasons, so at the end of the day most of us are just looking to get high.

I do know it helps people's medical issues, and that's important to protect those peoples rights, but it would be stupid and completely wrong to say that there won't be a lot of people who are going to be getting their licenses that are dumb-ass, aint-that-merica, idiots that are one day going to be the ones that fly into you or someone close to you on the freeway. Seriously, it's not hard to make up a fake disorder and pass it off at the examination.

I also think the words "civil liberty" are being used quite freely and our freedom to drink and smoke weed seems more of a negative (And trivial...) right than positive. I believe if anything, handicapped people should be subject to that right, but not just anyone over 21. You should agree with that too... If it's a mind-altering substance that can be abused, it will, why encourage that by legalizing yet something else dangerous. Also, if you don't believe the number of people operating vehicles high (Or even smoking during operation) will spike like crazy, then I really recommend you keep an eye on those mirrors and I wish you luck on the road.

See, not everyone is like you and I. Not everyone can handle the effects of marijuana, and they're EVERYWHERE.

It is negative, it will cause problems, crimes will rise, accidents will rise, there's no doubt about it and I think because of that, it was better illegal. At least that way you had to have just a HINT of street smarts and put forth a little bit of dangerous effort to get it, you sort of had a sense of what you were getting into, you had to know someone, you were pretty aware with the consequences so you were pretty careful. Sure it was still dangerous, but now just about any joe-schmo can get their hands on it, whether they get it themselves, from the plenty of people that will continue to sell it illegally, from someone else with a card, so simple to get it.

You can call it bullshit all you want and we can pretend like we're saving our country's rights or evolving as a nation, but I can honestly say that we have a lot of other real, serious rights that are constantly violated/overlooked but it just seems people are more concerned about whether or not we can light up a joint or stick our wieners in one another's butts legally.

I'll just let time be my proof, but you really don't have to be a genius to know that it IS/was/always will be a problem... Just think about it realistically.

I'd also like to add that I can almost guarantee half (if not more) the people who voted on the prop were college idiots, who most likely just got done hitting the bong, and have Cheetos crumbs all over their shirt.... Oh and most importantly college idiots that don't give two squats about your rights, and rather just their own. Go ahead and tell me "I dont got no proof!!", you're right I don't, tell me how likely you think that might be, though?

Sure, the underground crime scene was big during it, but the amount of liquor that normal every day people had consumed had dropped by miles. Maybe you see it as clearing out the 'criminal sales' (Even though we obviously didn't see anything wrong with these 'criminal activities' right?) but maybe you might think different if, say, you get your ass beat by a drunk dad.

I guess if it weren't for our fore-fathers who fought to repeal that arbitrary law and protect our rights, who knows, maybe we wouldn't have all of the auto-collision, drunk parents, bar junkies, dumbass sluts that get knocked up, football lovin' mericans, etc.. Or maybe over time alcohol use would have decreased substantially, maybe we might of even progressed as a straight-thinking country and never been in such a time of crisis now, maybe our culture would have never evolved into the slobs that we are today, maybe we wouldn't all be arguing whether or not a mind-altering plant should be legal for us to smoke, maybe I'm wrong and we would've all died out from lack of alcohol consumption. Really, we'll never know for sure.

It doesn't matter how it affects "everyone else". I can get caught with weed nowadays and completely lose all financial aid for my college. What? Because I wanted to chill out one night? Seems fair? Hell no! I've driven high hundreds upon hundreds of times and I actually drive better as I am more aware and cautious. Good for those colleges idiots. Personal rights are the most important thing in my opinion that one can conserve and if that's gone, then to hell with free will in general.

 

Going off of dispensary prices in Denver my guess is 8-15 a gram and 25-40 for 1/8th
