Weed is legal in two states!

Ballot questions have legalized pot in Washington State and Colorado. It's going to be 21+ and regulated like booze. Federally illegal though, so I'm assuming shit will be going down.

Thoughts?

Hopefully it's going to be taxed the shit out to help us get out of this deficit since Osama is running this sinking ship again...

I doubt it will work out, the federal govt has the ultimate say, so we will see.

 

It's a states rights issue so the courts might force the federal government to allow it. Or they might realize that they really need to not do raids against those states anymore. Hopefully Obama does some executive orders.

 

Federal government doesn't allow medical mary jane either. SO I assume it will work

Although I don't see anything wrong with marijuana when it's used responsibly, It would be wrong to say that legalizing it will do anything but harm in this day and age.

Well, I'm happy for those who could actually use it for medical reasons, and for the very few people who know how to use it recreational and discreetly, but I think just like alcohol (and anything else related), it's going to be abused more than used.

The majority of people don't know what it really takes to be responsible.

It's a fantastic thing, not only does it give people back some of their civil liberties, it more or less removes the black market (which is axiomatically good), stops otherwise law-abiding citizens from being thrown into jail, and will perhaps help remove the stigma which in itself is damaging to people (self-fulfilling prophecy)!

 

I'm moving my ass to colorado.

But seriously, I think this will do more harm than good.

 

Here comes a gradual decline in economic productivity and a rise in accidents in the workplace, traffic, etc.
