Microsoft Plans to Merge Window Live Messenger into Skype

Guess we'll all be using skype in a few months

 

Interesting move. Then again they did over-hall Hotmail not so long ago, this was probably in the pipeline alongside that.

 

Heh... Skype has done so well since it came out, I used to just think it would be a little thing I used to talk to friends... Now everybody knows what it is.

 

I have regular memory leaks with Skype, meaning I have to restart it a lot. There's nothing wrong with MSN, sure Skype is more popular but some people still prefer MSN over Skype.

 

I really like skype, but there are two things I think would be nice if they are implemented. Push to talk & adjusting users volume during a call.

 

I like both however MSN is rarely used where I'm from. This would be adventageous as I like Skype a lot!

 

Push to talk on Skype would be amazing. I thought you can already adjust someones volume on Skype though?

 

Nup I was in a call once with one of my friends and his mic was like broken or something and I could barely hear him. No option what so ever did I find to raise it.

 

You can use PTT on the Skype beta versions.

 

Just started using Skype and I love it

 

As someone who uses video chat on Skype almost daily, i've grown to hate it. Using alternatives i've gotten better video and sound quality, though most alternatives are more buggy, sadly.

I'm sick of having to log into both skype and windows live at the same time whenever I want to do a trade..

 

Hmm, seems like an interesting change. I've never really used Windows Live Messenger, but love Skype.

 

I prefer skype a lot more, i always have issues with accepting invites on MSN.

 

I find Skype more reliable, and I've loved it ever since I tried it, I stopped using Live messenger since.

MSN is just too buggy, I've heard and experienced the invite bug, it's slow and laggy compared to Skype.

Guess Microsoft's making good use of Skype. I wonder how Skype would be in a year's time.

 

Im a bit amazed about Microsoft's decision about quitting messenger service seeing that it still has over 100 million users...But yeah, Skype is quite good and basicly does the same that messenger does.

 

I think steam calls have those options, but it would be nice if skype did too.
