Go into your firewall protection settings and add the program to your 'allowed' list.

It's just a false positive, Simba is completely open source so it contains no malicious code. Just allow Simba to be opened and your good to go.

Open Source does not instantly mean there is no malacious code, but the chance is smaller. But Simba does not contain any malacious code. Probably a problem with the smartremote32 that is used to let RuneScape run as a stand alone applet in SMART since a few weeks.

    Here's a better solution:

Uninstall Norton and get a better antivirus. :) If you insist on keeping it, then just realize with any software, false positives do happen. As was mentioned, locate Norton's list of filtered files and manually deactivate it from targeting the smartremote32 (or any other SIMBA process).

But, seriously, just get rid of Norton.

Yeah, for 99% of people MSE will do the job no problem and I recommend it to people wanting a good free antivirus software. However, if you're constantly downloading files from possible malicious sources I would recommend getting something more heavy duty such as Norton 360 or Kaspersky.

I Personally have Norton 360 and it works great! It even detected that my system was rooted and fixed it.

Norton AV is one of the worst anti-virus program you can get.
Instead, use AVG, Kaspersky, Avast or ESET NOD32.

As everyone else has said, uninstall Norton now. It's the worst antivirus you could possibly use. You'd be better off not using an AV over using Norton.

For the record, we on Sythe are in the 1%, where basic antivirus programs aren't nearly enough. The hacking threat level of most Sythe users is very high. RS related websites get ratted frequently; phishing websites are extremely commonplace; keylogger programs are distributed on a daily basis. If you have the budget and time to look into heavier-duty antivirus software as well as learning how to stay safe, I strongly recommend you do it.
