I can't figure out the
1. primary problem..
2. Implication on Personnel / Organization!

The article is extremely tricky and I am not really sure..what the actual primary problem is.. i will love you forever if someone helps me out.

 

Isn't the primary problem the need to employ people? Just a shot in the dark here, but that seems to be what it is pointing to. haha.

I thought the primary problem was that the restaurant had a non-enticing menu that is attracting customers

But the actual problem was disagreement among staffs.. sometimes it's tricky :|

 

Seems a bit convoluted, but I didn't get to read the entire part of the second article. I guess it would be what is more important - is it the lack of an enticing menu or is it that the staff are bickering and can't decide a damn thing? A failing staff usually can't be saved. A menu is easily re-written.

 

So the problem is, Sheldon needs to amass a group of young athletes who have a passion for running and practice what they preach. Right now his primary goal is to employ such people, since he has 0 eligible people on staff. As far as the implication on personnel/organization goes, being Sheldon's assistant you need to figure out a concrete method to attracting people who fit this niche down to a tee. So if I were you, I would suggest that Lace Up begins to recruit/sponsor young athletes (specifically runners) at a community college that has lower division runners (e.g. D2-D3) who love this sport, and are willing to work hours to pay for their tuition. Perhaps you could also suggest promoting job occupancies by presenting them to the Dean of Students at these specific colleges (it can be state/private schools as well) and mention specifically that you want to sponsor these runners and offer them jobs primarily based upon their experience. Honestly, a college student who loves running and can work a job that gives him sponsors and such will be ecstatic to promote Lace Up to his fellow colleagues and customers alike.

Accordingly to your article, I would think organizational branding is the main problem at hand because Lace Up is only a new start up, it does not have any perceived brand image with their customers. Since you are hired as the expert to build up the company's brand, it would be an important issue with the company.

As for the existing personnel, the implications would be that current employers may not all be fit to the newly established organization culture (of young, fit, and healthy people). The organization may find that it would spend capital to re-train current employees that are in contact with customers in order to have a consistent brand image. Existing personnel may also be resistant to the changes so that should be taken into consideration.

 

So apparently.. the Primary Problem is that Sheldon wants to reinvent the entire image of the company.. corporate culture.
