Leauge of Legends

Two things:

1. There seems to be a common misunderstanding here, LoL is not an MMO, it's a MOBA based game. Most LoL players know this. I was thinking, considering LoL is the #1 game in the world (source below), I'm sure it has it's own market appeal. However, having it under MMO's doesn't seem fitting, as it's not.

I'm suggesting to somehow, make it fall under a MOBA game section/rename the current one.



2. It's location on the forums is extremely hard to locate, if not impossible. New users would IMO, have no idea where the section resides, and this could possibly be costing us new members.

Thoughts?

Renamed "Other MMO/MOBA sales"?

 

Nothing is wrong with the MMO title, as LoL can also be referred to as an MMORTS.

 

It's known as MOBA game. When they hold competitions, they refer to it as a MOBA.

 

I'm not sure if there is enough activity for a Moba section as the LoL one is pretty dead. However I agree that something needs to be done because finding the LoL section is nearly impossible if you didn't know its there.

 

Still perplexes me how the LoL section, when it had it's own was dead. Its the most popular game, and highest watched/prize money etc game in the world.

Seems fitting to me.

As for the location, it could use some bolstering as it is pretty hard to find. LoL has the possibility to be a pretty big market, so I wouldn't mind having it showcased a bit more.

What exactly are you suggestion here...? You went off on a very long tangent about the fact that LoL is the most played game, but it seems to me your only endgoal was to have the section it's filed under NAMED CORRECTLY... A suggestion like this could have been approved if you'd simply had said "LoL is a MOBA, not an MMO"

So was there nothing more to your suggestion than renaming a very small, dead market section?

 

Yea, i tend to ramble. Also, as others mentioned, no one has any idea/how to find the LoL section, and most would overlook it. Take that as a query on what we can do to change that, opposed to a suggestion :idea:

 

In which case, for obvious reasons, I support changing the forum name to MMO/MOBA. I would also support adding LoL as a separate market sub-forum. I think it's a large enough niche, what with referral sales, account sales, "pro-ranked team" sales etc.

 

I was actually thinking of posting a similar suggesting myself, except to give LoL it's own section.

I realise it used to have it's own section which started as being relatively active but then died down, however LoL has expanded greatly since then and many Sythe users actively play it.

Although there's not really a 'market' for it, I do support the suggestion of renaming that particular section as it does get confusing at times.

LoL is a large game, we should get it it's own category, I know when I first started out, I had no clue who to try out, what spells to use, or anything really. Might be dead at the beginning, but we just need to get people into the game, or get the people in-game to the site.

 

personally i love league of legends have tons of fun playing and id be glad 2 see it have its own section

I'd say probably leave it a few more months, at least untill season 3 because then the appeal will be much stronger and it will have a much bigger market. I was going to suggest the same thing later on so i could call it My LoL section, but w/e.

Also, Lol doesnt really have a market the way other games do, you can trade accounts and boost elo, thats about it, you cant trade items or skins or do anything.

My opinion: not yet.

 

For now I just think renaming the section that LoL is in to something like 'other RPGs and MOBAs' would be enough. It would be a lot easier to find and if a big activity increase occurs another suggestion could be made to add it back to the main page.

You spelled League of Legends wrong in the title. That might also pose a problem.
