How to start MM'ing and getting vouches?

Hey guys, I am looking to eventually start up a gold shop here, but first I want to build up my credibility some more. What is the best way to start MM'ing assuming I have no vouches right now? What kind of things will people trust me with and just how in general is the best way to get in to the business? I feel like once I get going it will be easier but starting is difficult. Ideas? There are no restrictions on starting MMing however with having 0 vouches you won't be requested to MM trades likely. A good way to start is with a service, skilling is quite good. Offer a few free services in order to gain a few vouches before starting to charge.

 

Best way to start getting vouches is doing small jobs, and work your way up. A good way of doing this is to offer free skilling service for a while, then start charging a little, or sell gold in small amounts to people for a really low price, letting yourself go first (as long as they are trusted!) and work your way up from there! =]

 

No one will ever use you as an mm, until you have at least 40 vouches. Best way to start getting vouches is to maybe provide free services. good luck

 

Start with a service, whether it be selling gold, skilling, defender and torso services, fire capes.. anything. Usually for free to gain trust, it will be tough in the beginning, though. Post around in the community so people get to know you and have your MM thread open, it'll take a while but it will kick off. Good luck

Not necessarily true, I started my MMing thread when I only had 10(?) vouches I believe and through my service have gained around 14(?) Not exactly sure on the numbers but I most certainly did not have 40

 

Selling account upgrades seems to be effective method to gaining vouches. However, the catch is you either break even or lose a small amount of money on every upgrade.

 

I don't think anyone has mentioned donations yet. They basically act as a collateral (if you were banned, you'd lose the donation status) for smaller transactions. Selling upgrades with a $25 donation would probably get you started pretty easily.

 

I started my MMing service at 20 vouches and earned many vouches as all my MM's went through perfectly. I'd definitely suggest getting some vouches by buying/selling things or offering services first to get some credibility then after that you can start an MMing service. At that point it's all about luck and people that will choose to use you as an MM. Usually the first one helps out a lot because if people see that your first MM went through well, they will give you a shot. And you just keep going from there. At least that's how it went for me .

 

You can start MM'ing at 0 vouches, however obviously it's going to be very hard to acquire any customers. I suggest doing some free services, selling RSGP, whatever you can to get some vouches and then start your MM'ing service.

 

Selling account upgrades are a very fast way to get vouches and sometimes you may even make some profit. Buying and reselling gold is also a good way.

If you sell upgrades I recommend buying them yourself at a store like target, so it would be impossible for someone that applies your upgrade to get a negative jcoin balance (which could get you banned if you don't repay/fix it)

Everything else comes slowly.
Just be legit, and focus more on the community than trading. You'll sell stuff eventually, just use middleman for now until you build more trust, but don't make trades where you can be scammed and you'll love it here. If the common user would use sense Sythe would be so much safer.

 

Everybody here is missing the point of vouches. Vouches are not a commodity. Contrary to popular belief, the quality of the vouches is more important than the quantity. Check out my vouches for an example ($700 blindly trusted on faith to me in under 20 vouches).

 

MMing is a possibility from your level but as mentioned before you should do some smaller jobs to gain the reputation to go towards working as a MM.

Vouches aren't everything but if you can make yourself shine and appeal to the customers, you'll go far.
