They get a lot better mpg. For Dodges a three quarter ton truck with a hemi with get like 14 mpg, and a diesel will get around 18-22 mpg.

 

You guys are the only people with comparable gas prices to where i live ITT, its 3.17 currently at the "racetrac" gas station down the street. DFW Texass

i drive a 02 mountaineer automatic for what its worth, 18-25 mpg. I miss 4 cylinders and plan on going back to a 4 banger standard ASAP.

 

Just pull the injectors off your engine untill you are down to 4 cylinders lol, really.
Make sure you are still firing evenly on both sides though, you dont want 3 to fire, the one to fire.

Had a friend to it to his i6 f150, went down 2 cylinders and he went from 14 to 21 mpg.

To be running on 2 cylinders and getting 21 mpg is just terrible .. i had a 92' slant 6 f-150 and was getting 22 mpg running all cylinders (it was a 5 speed though) .. your friends truck is fucked and him pulling injectors off is just going to fuck it worse. I prefer my trucks for lack of a better phrase not ghetto . on a 4 cylinder nissan or toyota i could easily get 28-32 mpg on a standard (have before) thats the kind of thing im going for.. a 50% increase in efficiency over my v8 would be very welcomed, even if its at the expense of 3 rows of leather seats and a roomy interior

No, we don't necessarily drive "smaller" cars. Thanks to the ridiculous gas prices, we just decide to drive sedans that are fuel-efficient, get the best km/l, and you can't even dream of driving a ford or chevrolet truck unless you had money lying around.

Just because our country is smaller doesn't mean that we live closer to our jobs. It's true that we have a sophisticated public transport system, but the average korean must drive at least an hour or so, too, if he wants to work a job that can feed his family.

But he is running 4 cylinders, not 2. And also, there is no negative effect of running without 2 cylinders firing, it just reduces the hp/torque. A few car manufacturers have produces.cars that switch between v8's and v4/6s . When you are just driving 2-4 cylinders shut off to save fuel, when you are in performance mode all cylinders fire correctly.

There's no regular gas around where I live right now because of the hurricane. Had to fucking blow so much on Super.

 

My car averages about 30-35mpg and I only drive freeway. Work> home and Home > work

If I worked full time ~ 150$ - 200$ a month
If I worked Part time ~ 100$ - 150$ a month
