First ever signature - Don't kill me.

This is my first ever attempt at an actual signature, i used a youtube guide to help me as i'm absolutely helpless.

Please don't bite my head off, i know it's rubbish but any advice would be highly appreciated (try to make it as simple as possible as i don't know half of these graphic-like terms)

As of now, the render is simply a render on top of a background. Firstly, try blending the render into the background, so it doesn't look like it's just been pasted on top.
Secondly, try and find a theme, rather than just creating any random background.

It's awesome for a first try, great job! To further blend the render, I suggest you play around with the layer modes. A lot of it is just experimenting - use brushes and duplicate layers using different layer modes to create the effect you desire. Another trick is to use ctrl+U/command+U to play around with the hue/saturation settings. There are also tons of tutorials you can find in our Graphics Tutorials and Resources section.

Overall you did pretty awesome for a first ever signature. I hope you continue .

Good job! I personally feel that the first was the best but that's my humble opinion.

 

Hmm, okay I would like to recommend staying on one specific type of graphic so that you get solid CnC. The ones you posted are three types of different pieces; First one looks like a tag, second one a bannerish thing, and third one looks like a more modernish type sig. If you want my personal opinion, I would tell you that you need to work for a long time on one thing and try to master it before you move into the next. Don't go all over the place. But something I would like to recommend doing is working with colors. The colors you use are always colliding with each other therefore making the piece look amateurish. Like surj posted there are websites that can help you with that. However, sooner you should have an artists' taste of what colors go well.

 

Your 4th render is kinda low quality - did you resize it incorrectly?
When resizing (Ctrl+T), hold onto shift so that it keeps the same quality.

 

for the attempts you did they are good for a first try! try to blend the the render and and get a high quality render. Pick a theme and stick with it like said above.
