$700 per week for gas? There no way in **** I would pay that much out of pocket for transportation  . Now is a good time to invest in a decent entry level road bike $1000-$1500 and save some money + get some cardio in. I recently got a road bike and bike about 30 miles a day resulting in me saving money and getting my cardio/leg workout out for the day  . Two birds with one stone..

This is the bike I got, its my baby ^_^. Don't get caught up on the fact that it is $1,000+ spent on a bike.. Think of it as an investment into your health and it practically pays itself off. I save $200 per month when I bike.

You guys in the USA still get your gasoline for relatively cheap compared to here in Europe. It's been expensive over here for a while now.

Currently it's about £1.40 per litre, which is about $2.25. 1 US gallon of gasoline here would cost around $8.5

The worst thing is that the price keeps escalating.

Wow, glad I don't live in Europe. If it ever hit $7+ a gallon I would say forget it and bike to work.

About £1.35 p/litre where I live, it went up for a while, but it's actually decreased slightly recently.

Yeah, it's £1.30 p/litre, here. We drive a hybrid though, and manage about 50 mpg.

I've been thinking about getting a hybrid. People can make jokes all day at me, but bloody hell gas is ridiculous.

This.
Here it's 7.95ILSִִִ/Liter which translates to about $2.04/Liter or $7.72/Gal.
Oil can't be imported from most places because no Arab country will export, and when it is imported the government just lumps some massive tax.

What are the diesel prices where you guys are? Ive been wanting to get a diesel truck recently but the price is around $1.10 for diesel. 5 cents on every litre isn't much but like 10 years ago diesel was a lot cheaper than it is now.

its $1.5 a Litre here in Australia... which is about $5.50 a gallon. Haven't changed much in the last year. I get about 18 MPG if I did that right (8km to a Litre)

I drive a 2012 Nissan Altima, it's a 4 cyl though (Thank God). I commute from Long Island to the City for work (around 2-3 times a week, I work part-time to pay off the loan for my Nissan :p), and gas is around $3.78 a gallon.. I think I get around 23mpg/city and 32mpg/hwy (or maybe less for highway.. I'm not too sure).

Diesel is about $4.10 per gallon where I am. Which sucks, because I planned on getting a diesel truck next. Oh well, I hear they get better mpg.

You drive much smaller cars and Korea is a MUCH smaller land mass than in the USA. You also live closer to your jobs/work. We have honestly fucked ourselves over with the infrastructure as most people drive 30mins-1hour for their jobs every day.

Currently driving a 1997 Ford F350, gets around 12 MPG. (diesel)
