Most People are Stupid

What? Since when does pronunciation make someone stupid? And a grenade IS a small bomb.

 

Please, I don't know what parts of the earth any of you are from; but where I am, people's lives are pretty much molded based on what they saw on Jersey Shore. If you're just before this modern wave of electronic/rave/"Experimental" age of people, congratulations. If you abstain from lame worldly things like "Fitting in", partying, "living like you only live once", then consider yourself a minority. As a majority though, I wouldn't say that statement is a long-shot and I definitely think that in time we're going to see the effects when these people are the ones raising kids and paving history.

 

ummm because no matter where you're from, it's HEIGHT?(Except for when other countries have it in their own language). There is no extra H at the end, and that, plus how people can't even spell nowadays is just proof that the education system is either messed up, or people are just getting less intelligent each generation. And no, a grenade isn't a small bomb, don't talk about weapons unless you know them. A bomb is something that usually has wires connected and sometimes has a detonator or a timer and so on and so forth. A grenade, you pull a pin and it's done. Have you ever heard of bomb squad coming to diffuse a grenade? I sure as hell haven't.

@FloydZeppelin - I agree completely with you dude. All we can hope for is that the actual intelligent human beings have kids and they raise them right and hopefully they can hold on to the little life the human race has left.

 

While these people may stand out I don't think it really is how things stay, or how it really defines people as a whole. I mean if you look back at the 80s popular culture, it's scarier than what we have now but things haven't burned to the ground.



And I think this picture sums up my opinion on this "most people are stupid" attitude. I think everyone underestimates too much.

 

Well I definitely know I'm not the only one that feels this way, that's why I decline to even use the term "Most", but instead majority - and there is definitely a big window of people who still have common sense.

But, as an example, it's plain to see that the technology age has taken over. Even though you and I aren't lazy, it's not a mystery that we are a pretty lazy generation. My question is what could possibly happen that's going to prevent laziness from growing amongst generations to come?

 

Personally, I can coincide with your logic but others may think your logic is bias or offensive. Also, I'm assuming you mean stupidity as in stubbornness, not mental retardation.

 

People have mourned the following generation as lazy bastards as soon as there was so much as a generation to mourn. a thousand years ago, people were saying that language is becoming so distorted that their children are speaking trash, yet over the course of the centuries no language has become a trashy piece of shit. People simply like to take things out of context and say the phenomena are new.
Anyhow, people call their peers stupid because it reinforces their own image. That's it. Everybody does it and honestly you shouldn't give a fuck, since it's what's holding society together.

 

A load of young people are just absorbed in celebrities and image, and therefore generally lack common sense. I wouldn't say they were stupid, just ignorant to what's good for them.

 

In my opinion, it is not that the stupid are stupid, but the smart are too arrogant. They believe that people are getting stupid, that exams are far too easy, and so forth, and so have a natural condescension to those who struggle with those kind of things - booksmarts, as one might say.

There are many kinds of intelligence, though. A friend of mine is a musical prodigy, gaining a scholarship into university a few years early, yet struggles to do mathematics and the like. So, yeah, tl;dr - people aren't stupid.

 

I think that the majority of people don't have intelligence as a primary concern, and fail to hone it as a result.

what I mean is, most people are too concerned with their menial jobs and trivial things to care enough about intelligence to do something about it.

so, yes, I do think that the majority of people are stupid, compared to those who actively seek to learn and further their respective fields.

If people took the time to read a scholarly article once in a while, maybe they would increase in intelligence. Until then, the world looks like it is going the way of the society in the movie idiocracy.

 

Turn on the TV for 5 minutes and really think about what your watching. This should instantly make up your mind if your undecided on this topic.

 

There's a fine line of difference as to what things are like now and 1,000 years ago... Or even 15 years ago. So much has been simplified, so much has been made to be spoon-fed to us. We watch, listen, and learn to act from trashy stuff that is so easily accessible now through technology, so in that sense we should give a fuck. We are for the most part getting dumber and lazier, and forgetting about values. And it will happen to those born into this world, except they don't have any past experience.

I saw a commercial the other day that pretty much sums up 'merica. There was a baby crying and to calm it down, the mother gave it a kindle fire hd to look at. Lol. That's the kind of things I really see happening to this world, and that's not good - Emotionally, physically, and psychologically.

It may not affect you or I, but it affects us as a nation.

Oh, and if anything it's segregating us as a society, not holding us together.
