    Laptop for runescape

I am in search of a decent laptop that will run runescape at high settings smooth. My current laptop is 4 years old, and lags a ton on runescape and goes to 100% CPU usage. My maximum price is $700, less would be great. I will only be using the laptop for browsing, word processing, Skype, and runescape. (I won't ever play any other games, xbox for that)

I have been looking at some nice hp pavilions and envy's and they have good prices, but have heard about good and bad things with hp. So know of any problems with hp?

I personally would recommend an asus. I've owned 2 asus computers, and both of them have been perfect. My asus are high end gaming laptops though, but my dad bought one for around 400 dollars with an i5 and it's flawless. Hp, usually, has hardware problems and a bad warranty, while asus has a 2/3 year warranty on hardware. I've owned 3 hp and 2 of them broke due to random hardware problems.

Personally I think HP is the best but each to his own opinion. Basically if Runescape is the only game you will use it for, you don't need an outstanding laptop. Mine only has a 2.4 Ghz processor and 2 GB of ram but it runs perfectly.

In addition to what Jack Goff said, intel processors in general are the apex processors of this day and age. More ram wouldn't hurt, but then again that's why we have desktops.

first of all don't shop directly from the manufacturer, you're wasting money right there to start off with.
I have had three HP laptops, and ALL of them gave me problems. I'll never own another. All three of them had bad heat issues, HP's tend to run hot. Heat kills electronics, so naturally they don't last long. the first, the power port broke off of the motherboard. CD drive also stopped working(HP pavilion ZD7000). the second overheated itself to death(HP pavilion ZD8000) . On the last one I bought(HP DV5) the keyboard broke completely out of it, and the cd drive stopped working. I'm officially done with HP products. Pure and utter garbage.

on the other side of the spectrum, I would recommend you look into Lenovo, MSi or ASUS. I have had good luck with ASUS, and am exceptionally happy with my MSi. My friend has only owned Lenovo's, and has one that is 6 years old, still kicking strong. It's the most durable-built brand of laptops i've ever seen. His new Lenovo is still built just as tough as his old one...very impressive.
