Randoms are gone.

I also have mixed feelings about the removal of randoms. Jagex must be pretty confident in their bot detection system. I'd watch out botting excessively this weekend.

 

I really miss the randoms who would just appear and kill you.
how proud I was when as a f2p player I got my first shade robe set.

 

Glad that they are gone.

Sounds like they are confident they can catch all bots.

They must have a way to see what your playing on now...[Rsbuddy,Rs-client, Powerbot]. I wonder...

Any other theories as to why they're getting so confident?

 

Im not so sure its that their confident in their system now, they probably realized it wasn't really stopping bots. Not only that but it was double xp weekend coming up. People training summoning getting 1-2m+ xp per hour would be getting randomed every couple minutes.

 

I would agree with this. I remember in the fishing guild when people got river trolls it was a chance to show off high damage to others. Lots of godsword specials happened then. I miss it...

 

I'd say that's rather warning for botters. Anyways I'll miss them too, free xp was always good

Finally! It is about time they removed those pesky randoms ^_^

In my opinion, they were completely ineffective at capturing bots (other than the odd bot trapped inside), and they were more of a hindrance to legitimate players than anything else.

 

Exactly, most bots can do randoms anyway..

Jagex is probably doing this because of some sort of hidden bot detection they are doing probs. It could be too good to be true ya know? I feel as if Jagex is sort of luring botters to bot more then do another bot nuke.

 

The only ones I didn't mind were the maze, the gravedigger, drill demon, and freaky forester. The last 3 because they gave you a unique outfit over time, and you could combine it with other items to make new outfits. Also, the levers (partially b/c it took 3 seconds). Everything else to me was just tedious and unnecessary.

The Sandwich Lady used to make me rage when you would misclick and get tele'd to nowhere near what you were doing. Also, when you were mining or woodcutting and out of nowhere you would just be wielding an "axe handle" because the rest of the item was now an unnecessary treasure hunt to find was very annoying.

Couldn't stand more then half the randoms but I'll defiantly miss getting the free xp!

 

Weilding an axe handle was badass back in the days. Well, i enjoyed doing so.
Randoms were good XP for skillers to train slayer for example.

 

I personally like the concept of randoms being removed, they were always a pain in the arse, especially in the days of the "evil chicken", the doctor guy, the poisonous plant and so on.

Sure you get a bit of exp from some of them, but majority are just a time waste and annoying.

 

They should have done this long long ago.. Not when they ban my account :/
