Random events will no longer activate in the game:
If you are in an event upon log-in, you will still need to complete the event.
It is no longer possible to obtain points towards random event costumes and emotes. You will still be able to spend any remaining points for the immediate future, and we encourage you to do so.
Another method of obtaining the costumes and emotes will be introduced to the game in the near future.
All music tracks linked to random events will be automatically unlocked.

Maze random was one of the only things that stopped bots.

 

It's an interesting update. Maybe it's just a possible way of preparing players for a "final" bot nuke/ anti-bot system.. who knows.. Might be interesting things in the the future.

 

Was about to post about this, they have a decent bot detection system now so there is no point for random events .. or they are expecting that people will bot more now due to this thinking they won't get banned and then do a mass ban.

 

I have to say, i'm going to miss some random events :/ they've already taken out all my favourites in the past though anyway.

 

Not sure if this is good or bad news for bots....

Too much of a coincidence to be true, Jagex have developed some proper bot-nuking software, and are gonna go to town.

 

maybe legit player was blaming jagex that they ruin the game for them (the legit players), cause they wanted to stop botting so badly and they forgot about the legit ones? now they see that this was wrong? idk

Oh, that's a shame. I actually enjoyed being pulled away out of nowhere to do a quick quest while I was woodcutting or something Jagex must be really sure of their 2nd bot nuke if this is going on.

 

I'm personally glad they're gone, but I do agree: they're probably confident they can ban bots now.

The conspiracy of the Double XP weekend being used to catch bots does seem rather likely. I'm almost regretting buying 60k Adamant Bars now.

But, let's hope things maintain.

 

Why are you regretting it? If bots are gone you can still pull off an alright flip, right?

Wow, this is very interesting.

Unless they have a new plan of deterring bots, or as you stated are simply confident, then I'm intrigued of it.

 

I thought something like this was going to happen, everyone was just getting the teleport lever random lol. I had it like 30 - 35 times in a row.
