I shouldnt be alive

Well, I almost died today. Simple as that, i was coming home from swim practice on a very curvy road we call "roller coaster", my friend was driving and lost control, we hit a bank and rolled the car 3 times along with a 180 degree turn. The paramedics told us we shouldnt be alive, i walked away with a dislocated shoulder and minor scratches, my friend is in the ICU tonight with internal brain bleeding, he should be okay considering it doesnt get worse. It may not seem bad from the pics, but going back on my way home from the hospital i looked at the bank and the road, the point of impact to where we ended up. If we had gone a different way, or rolled to the right instead of left, we would have gone over the guard rail and i wouldnt be making this post right now. The car is totaled, it was bought by my friend 4 weeks ago paid for in cash by himself. Heres some pics.



I also have a picture I took right after i called 911, my friend was still in the car unconscious, its pretty gruesome though so idk if i wanna post it

Basically what I'm trying to say is its very easy to die driving, my friend wasnt texting or messing with the radio when we crashed, but Im going to be a way more aware driver from now on, I hate to be cliche but I never thought it would happen to me/us, I wasnt even driving. its a traumatizing experience, we're lucky we're alive, and we were made fully aware of that by the paramedics. They told us we shouldnt be, our seatbelts saved our lived.



tl;dr, drive safely.

Just trying to watch out for the community, its not a fun experience, and i feel complete sorrow for anyone who has gone through similar

 

Wow dude I truly feel for you.

My brother was involved in an accident where some idiot swapped lanes without looking and pit maneuvered the range rover they were in. There was 4 people in the car and all the windows were down including the sun roof. They rolled 5 times then skid for 150 feet but amazingly the only injuries were a minor concussion on the driver.

When faced with morality our perspectives on life change. Hopefully you can take away something positive from this. (it seems that you have)

I can't access the photos either. It sounds like what happened has definitely changed you, I can't see any situation where it wouldn't however. It's great to hear you are fine and I hope your friend will be fine.

 

I just don't get it; people here in my country drive like comletely retarded assholes and rarely get into a serious car accident but people who drive safely do.
