Voting Machines and the companies the manufacturer them should be independent of any ties to a candidate. That is just a fraud waiting to happen.

He's fine to own them, but I don't think that it looks good for him to have ties to any ownership in terms of the voting machines.

Going to cause a hell of a lot of unnecessary press that should be directed at how terrible Obama is.'

Edit: I love how this reporter is over-analyzing what owning these voting machines means.

The whole article is biased, completely anti-Romney. Then again, I'm biased in writing this since I support Romney.

Everyone bashes Romney in any way possible and I find it hilarious.
I do think it isn't helping his rep that he owns one although it has little to no
effect on this campaign what so ever. Just remember that Obama has added 8.7T to the national debt since 08'. And to anyone saying that he inherited the debt from Bush has little to no research on Obama at all. That is all
Sorry to go on a rant and off topic there

What legitimate use would they have for a voting machine? Unless they wanted to conduct some sort of mini poll.

I just think it is funny how anything negative Romney comes out all the Romneyfags jump on it and try to enact some sort of damage control by saying that Obama did a really bad job.

The same can said about both sides, so please don't only look at Romney supporters when Obama supporters do the same exact thing if not worse, such as bringing to light an issue as minuscule as owning voting machines.

I think its funny how "Obamafags" think that Obama was doing a good job letting our debt get even higher. Dont give me any of that "He became president at a bad time in our economy" B/C that isnt as big of an excuse as people use it for. The fact is Obama hasnt done anything to help the economy but still finds the need to attack Romney for not going over every step of his plan to balance the budget.

Kind of sketches me out that his family owns it, I don't really care too much, but it doesn't seem right

    Not if you know math.

Anyone who gave up looking for a job is no longer counted. The actual amount of unemployed workers in America is higher than the current statistics indicate.

Nobody's oblivious to this, honestly I'm sure there are people who will be hired to make sure that fraud does not occur whatsoever. We're talking about the current President of The United States here; he has the ability to ensure accurate voting.

Except that voting is a state, not a federal issue. States decide if a recount should happen if there's voter fraud or an issue similar to that, not the federal government. So the president can't do anything about that.

Sure, he can ask for a recount, but it's handled by state officials, not people appointed by Obama himself. So if fraud were to happen, the state would handle it unless it was a bigger issue or the state officials themselves were involved in the fraud.

He's a businessman, how can you blame him.

Obviously if there is some sort of fraud then I'll change my mind, but until then I have no problems with this.

If he were planning on some kind of fraud don't you think it would be pretty stupid to have your own family buy a share in a company that provides the voting machines? I'm not sure why there are 3rd parties that run the voting machines shouldn't it all be done by the government to prevent any kind of fraud?

It's a bit ironic given his candidacy but whatever.

umm he says this because romneys plan is not possible the only people that should be voting for romney are people with 100's of thousands of dollars which I'm pretty sure excludes everyone here on sythe. maybe instead of popping off at the mouth about something you're completely clueless on you do some research and find out what the real story is on each candidate rather than jumping on a band wagon.

Unless they can do something to the voting machines which would be fraudulent, I see no problem :/

Honestly, I don't fully understand how one can buy public voting machines.
