New advertising program, "Sythe Featured Services"

Hello, I am writing this because I was thinking of a better way our users can promote their services better and also help out the site in the process and I came up with "Sythe's Featured Services" This is where Sythe users can buy affordable advertising space on top of Sythe.org without paying huge amounts. The way the users will pay for a spot on the featured services banner is they can either pay with RSGP or USD. Also the price should be affordable so around X Amount of USD or (Market Price RSGP @ The Time) to advertise for a period of time so it could be weekly or monthly. I know what some of you are thinking "Oh its extra banners" but does it really bother you guys that bad, also this is great because all the income would help out Sythe and help the market and services for the users who want that extra bit of advertising. Here is a example of the banner that would be put in place,



As you can see its a very basic example but what would be done is the user would need to create the banner and one of the admins would be able to place it in the the space they bought. It would then have a hyper link to their chosen thread. Also there would be a rule, no websites allowed as it would be unfair to the paying advertisers so only threads. Like selling threads, leveling threads and OMM/MM services.

So tell me what you think guys?​

I think your on to something good, that could be handy for everyone, people with good services get to advertise, newbs like me get to see said services without looking too far.

 

IMO this is giving too much visibility to the already-popular threads. The only people who would buy these ads are large traders who already represent a large chunk of the trades done on sythe. I don't want people to have an advantage because they have the money to afford special advertising, I want people to have an advantage because they're trustworthy and because they've earned a reputation, not because they paid for one

 

This plus the fact people have complained about the ads as it is. If anything I think it should be featured ads for threads not specific to the market (SuF's market redesign, or some General Off-Topic threads), if it could be implemented.

 

So if someone with 6 vouches manages to buy one everyone should use them? It'd just be a money battle, which is dumb.

It would just make everything too commercial, rather than based on trust.

No. The market giants already have enough exposure. This will just further increase their already unfair advantage over those who are starting out.
