Microsoft Security Essentials is decent, AVG Free is good too. If you want something serious though, have a look at something out of the Kaspersky range.

Personally I just take free trial's of each well known antivirus software, then uninstall and take it again.

Microsoft Security Essentials is amazing for a free antivirus. Avast is relatively good also.

^^this. It integrates well with windows, doesn't use up gobs of memory for those without a lot of RAM, and it's a complete antivirus solution that is kept updated constantly. Best of all, it's free. I've been using it for about two years now.

The best anti virus is knowledge. Havent used a AV since 2002, haven't had a virus since 2002.

If your still set on a AV look into Microsoft Security Essentials. Stay away from Norton.

I suggest Malwarebytes, they offer a 30 day trial and it hasn't failed me yet.

Get a combination of Microsoft Security Essentials and Malware Bytes (Free Version) and set up MSE to run scans at regular intervals, and manually scan Malware Bytes, as you please.
