How good is this comp?

I want to know how good it is overall and how well it would do for rs

I'm not a PC expert, but it would own RS. RS needs hardly any decent stats, as I've run it on full HD on a crappy i3 processor, and I currently run it with 6% CPU on my quad core i7, so there's no big deal tbh.

 

You could probably run a decent number of bots if that's what you're looking for.

 

I think this belongs better in the "Technology" Section but yeah I think that should run RS fine.

I wouldn't buy that you can get a better deal on ebay I got the exact same computer with a better Vcard for 500 btw if ur wanting to run bots u can run about 8 powerbots without Oclocking and 4 cores active and will run out of cpu power with about 6-7 gigs of ram being used. keep in mind the processor has hidden processors that you can enable as well [they pick the 4 strongest cores of the 6 and enable them. you can unlock them in your bios though I'd recommend you find someone who knows what they're doing.

edit: Figured I'd mention it is a good computer just not for that price your paying sticker price going with that. I'd recommend finding a whitebox version of it on ebay and if you already have a OS install disc get one without it as it will save you around 100$ off your total price.

 

Pretty good, but the old school SATA drive will be your first drawback. SATA3 is capable of much higher bandwidth(which a mechanical drive is still only capable of so much, I know) and it also has much lower latency, which is basically the delay between when a piece of data or command is called for, and when the piece of hardware actually responds.

 

I ended up buying this but from frys, they had it for $577, I think that's a really good deal for that price.

All your buying here is a HD and CPU, Ram is cheap and case is junk. Spend that 700 and build something better then that.

I just built a computer with an i5-3570 processor, 8gb Ram, a decent hard drive, a quality power supply, etc for 500 on the dot. Build something like that and then invest in a very good graphics card for bots. You won't be disappointed.

It's a good rig, but you're hamstringed by the HDD speed. I'd suggest moving away from disk hard drives and moving to a SSD. You'll see your performance increase 10 fold.
