Absolutely not. Organized Religion certainly has its place in the world and the suggestion of banning it would be completely absurd.

I feel differently about in public institutions such as High School classes (not clubs) though..

Denying public expression of religion is in effect, and in many cases, denying the existence of religion outright. Some religions - Judaism in particular - are based on the idea that there is always a congregation available for religious rites. Many ceremonies require 10 Jews to be present, and I imagine similar requirements for Islam and certain Christian sects are in place. In effect, the idea of religion is also a social one - it's made in a way that you must have a group at least part of the time in order to fulfill requirements.

While I am against religion as a whole, denying the sociability of it is the same as denying it altogether
On top of all that, like Emperor Nero and others mentioned, Religious communities bring people together for the good of the community and aim to preserve it as a whole. In exchange for devotion for the community, you get support in times of need.

Ban religion all together and have people start thinking for themselves for a damn change, not following like sheep.

No, freedom of religion is part of the first amendment, removing this ability would be unconstitutional.
