Well, worrying and regretting comes from knowledge. Ignorance could be argued to be bliss in some ways as for example let's say you receive a grade B in a test which you are happy with. You demand to see the marks of your test and which question you got wrong, turns out if you'd have known one more point you'd have gotten an A grade. But if you hadn't demanded to know the results, you could have been happy with your B, but now you're going to regret not knowing that one piece of knowledge because you decided to know your marks, and if you don't get in to university you're probably going to still regret it, etc etc. On the other hand, sometimes all you need is some knowledge and your problem is solved, so I guess that would be why ignorance is not bliss.

It's just another way of saying "What you don't know can't hurt you."

That's probably a bad example and a poorly worded argument, sorry. But take what you can from it. I'm not the best with English or debates, but I need to brush up my skills for my philosophy course.

It's a cute, little proverb that Hinder named a song after. This particular proverb is basically saying if one is not aware of something, then they won't be hurt by it. I agree, unless you choose to catch eye to the fact that something negative is happening in your day to day scenario, the thought most likely won't effect you the slightest. E.g. your girlfriend is cheating on you, and all your friends and their mama's suspect it. Guess that makes you the ignorant one, but you're not aware of the scenario thus making you unaffected by it. It's a touchy case by case scenario though, I manipulated it to agree though just because.

It depends entirely on the situation. Some things are better left unknown, others aren't.

There are too many grim truths in the world, living without knowing them would leave me with a better more positive outlook on life. Childhood was just fantastic for me and i feel alot of it is due to the earnest ignorance of the average childs mind.

    Ignorance is Bliss

If ignorance is bliss, why are there so many unhappy people in the world?

^Not mine but Idk who said it. Ignorance can obviously be bliss depending on the situation but I'd rather know that the barn cat was dead rather than her just disappearing for over a month now (poor Stripy :().

    Ignorance is Bliss

I definitely agree with the statement. Ignorance is bliss, but ignorance can also lead to greater problems in the future.

I remember I had a girlfriend who had to tell me about every sexual experience with a guy she's ever had. In the end I'm glad I knew because it kept us together for longer but god did it bother me.

    Ignorance is Bliss

    Ignorance is never good.

Being kept in the dark, being lied to, not knowing information in any way, etc is never good.

The more you know the more you can begin to understand, whether its hurtful or enjoyable.

I rather know if I was done wrong, than go on living not knowing. Not knowing is a false reality, it is like saying whatever you can see in sight is good enough.

I want to see everything around me.
    I want to know.
