Instagram Is The New "Facebook"

Before anyone says anything, it is indeed common fact that Instagram was bought by Facebook for $1,000,000,000. How many of you actually use this application though? Its running ramped in my interns classes, everybody uses it because it's "drama free." Another question I'm curious about is what do you think about it personally?

 

I think it's dumb. People just add filters to photos, and they use Instagram because they can't afford photoshop. It's caused loads of people to become tumblr famous with a photo with filters and text because they have that much 'swag'. It's contributed to ruining community! I personally have never used it, and never will, it's annoying when people link it on twitter as you have to open a external application to view it!

 

Social networking has become pretty fucking retarded imo. Deleted my FB, etc. because I can't stand how it's become a "popularity contest".

I don't even use Facebook anymore, it's so annoying. I hate people who constantly update their status - "Smoking weed hmu" "(Insert name) is in a relationship." and then like a day later "(Insert name) is single."

I have always had a thing against Tumblr and Instagram, these are way more useless than Facebook is because all you do is upload pictures. No one cares about what you're eating or where you're at. (lol I sound so mean but it's true..)

I'm just curious to see what the next 'thing' will be.

 

I think it's a waste of time. Instagram is just a way to edit and share photos, well.. there's already Facebook & Tumblr for that.

 

It's not the new facebook in the slightest, if anything its the Tumblr . It could become the new facebook if added features similar to FB are added, but its not yet. It's not bad tbh i stick on photos every now and again.

Pretty much this. I know it comes with a whole sharing network too but it's not facebook. If anything, it's just twitter with pictures.

 

Social Networking is retarded. It has became the stomping ground for drama queens and attention whores and they ruin it for everyone else. No one gives a damn if you're in love with someone - keep that shit to yourself.

As for Instagram it is pretty cool. I love photography and if you actually find a professional photog with an instagram there are some really great pictures to look at.

Facebook is great. It's things like Timeline and Instagram which are ruining its name.

 

I enjoy going on Instagram to find new types of food to eat, because that seems like the only thing people take pictures of anymore.

Really never understood the point of this application tbh...

 

I guess with 98 Billion Dollars lying around you can throw a Billion out for an idea that takes off!

 

Never really got Instagram. I see it as a lazy way to make crappy photo's look good with boring filters.

 

As Verts said, it's like twitter but with pictures. I've got an Instragram and I personally like it.

 

I meant popularity wise, hence the quotation marks wrapping Facebook.
