The Sythe Community only exists because of RuneScape, only came together because of RuneScape, yeah you're right not much to do with it other than it being the cause and one of the reason it stays together and still exists.

You think backlinks to Sythe are going to fulfill what you set out to do with this?

 

It might have started because of RuneScape, but that's not always why people stay. The facebook page will have a bit of discussion about RuneScape, but that's only a small part of what will be posted.

And regarding the backlinks, it's for announcements, competitions, etc. It means if someone likes the facebook page the link will pop up on their wall so they don't miss it. Doesn't that bring people to the site?

Yeah that's kind of not how it works. This is something I do for a living and have been successful so far.

 

I don't see the point in the arguement in the first place..people wanted this and now they have it. I know iJava means well but common, end the crap. If you want to talk about it, why not mention it in the feedback or suggestion section?

The facebook page is just a tool we're using for our goal of stengthening the community. I highly doubt that everyone is going to stop posting to comment on facebook instead, and that'd be insane to think. It's not meant to be revolutionary, it's a tool we're using to benefit all of our other plans.

I thought that advertising within Runescape was the best way to go. But, a facebook page wouldn't hurt.

We're trying to expand areas other then runescape. Plus we don't have any official funding to work with, so we have to try a lot of different things.

 

Why? Runescape is our biggest 'net' in catching active members, why not just maintain, or perhaps even expand our current Runescape sections by advertising in game

Well the runescape part already sustains itself well enough, so we want to be able to expand upon the areas that are lacking a good foundation.

Yes if you did auto talkers and such, but right now that's not really a priority. It may happen in the future though.

Runescape is as big as it can be imo apart from maybe the RSPS section... But who cares about RSPS?
