RSPS Section Expanded

Ok so I have really thought about when Brendan said and spent a few hours revamping my idea. So bottom line is the Runescape private server section is near non existent. I think that if we were to take the time to spend a bit more effort in expanding it we could bring in a lot more people and also make the section more active.

- Section Moderate: We could use ether the runescape moderator or we could add a new moderator. Obviously this is Staffs decision.


- Sub Boards

- Client and Server help
( Self explanatory people post what issues they are having with their server and client, pictures, words whatever they would like and then people try and help them fix the error or error's)


- Rsc,rs2 Development

( People whom are making rs classic or rs2 they can post the projects that they are working on)

- Server downloading and sharing

( People can post their links of their sources and clients that they are releasing so other people can check them out test them etc.)

- Private servers list

( People whom have completed a runescape private server and have a web client and or downloadable client may post to bring people to their rsps.)

These are some changes but would attract a lot of people, you may call it a smaller version of morpar or rune-server. But in my opinion it's not it just gives the people of sythe an opportunity to show/play what they are working on and also give them help if needed. Let me know what you guys think. While also attracting new people to sythe.

 

Interesting concept.

Considering Sythe is largely a RuneScape Cheating/RuneScape Discussion/RuneScape Blackmarket it'd seem logical to have the RSPS section expanded. Basically it's just used as a way for the odd advertisement to be put in for members who decide to make one. As long as we aren't especially trying to copy RuneLocus or Mopar or compete with them, it should be fine.

Did you have any specific suggestions? Different Subsections? Its own moderator?

 

I can't support this, the runescape server development section isn't even very active tbh. It doesn't need to be expanded.

 

That's the entire point of the suggestion. Make changes to make it more active.

Yeah I think there is merit in this suggestion as it does seem to be relatively dead and an idea like this could increases its activity a bit.

Yeah I'd like to see these too, the moderator would just be a runescape moderator presuming it remains under Runescape.

 

Yes, I agree. When coding I have to go to rune-server to get all my information. It's extremely popular over there. This will bring a lot of activity to the section.

 

@ Everyone, Honestly when it comes to the moderate it could be moved into the runescape section or just expand it to the runescape mod, it is actually just for the upper management to figure out. As for the sub sections if we made a spot with like client lists and sources and projects people we were working on more advanced I guess. Questions if people need help I haven't figured it all out yet as to I just came up with the idea and I know some of those tools are already there but if we did expand the section It leads to a lot of new members.

 

I think the suggestion will be much more likely to take effect if you can help them out with the organising. We're going to need separate subsections for organisation, perhaps different rules regarding bumps for the threads advertising servers. Can they pay to have a sticky?

All this needs to be thought through, then suggested.

I do really like the thought of a section for people to go to for help. I'm sure there are a few others in here who've tried to or have maintained an RSPS before. They're quite fun to make and run as well, so that's a plus. I do feel that a new moderator is unnecessary, but hopefully someone who's maintained an RSPS has permissions there.

I just think something needs to be done to stop it being an unused advertising board. So I support this.

We actually consolidated the RSPS forums a long time ago. Those forums were really inactive.

 

What exactly was done previously to improve them? I'd really like to see the staff and community have another go resuscitating them.

 

@Ve I guess maybe that is my point that I think that if we could re livin it up that we could expand a whole new way to get members and possibly revamp the rsps section so there was life to it.

 

Most people find themselves attracted to RuneLocus because of the top private servers list. Perhaps, if we could incorporate an official private servers list with poles for people to vote in their particular favorite servers. Or even a private server review list, people can post the name/logo of the server they occupied and give a brief or in-depth analysis of what they liked, and what they didn't. I would probably toss a thread like that into advertisement for obvious reasons, but none the less. I think the only thing one can do is post a more interactive thread than what's already occupying those forums.

 

It's not that easy lol, but an ideas an idea. Either way I would love to see this added.

 

As someone who's active in the section, I wouldn't mind seeing it expanded. But, if they decided to add sections for sharing projects/clients it would need to be heavily moderated, as the files could easily be filled with keyloggers/RATs/whateverelseisbad. (exactly why direct download links to clients aren't allowed)

If we had a RS sectional that would be somewhat dedicated to the section I think it could work. I'd love to see some change.

You don't add a moderator in an attempt to make a section more active, they are just unrelated needs.
Nothing is going to make RSPS sections active on a different site. If people want to find one, they'll look on top 100 sites. It people want to discuss one and play one, they'll go to that site.

Makes no sense to even HAVE the section in my opinion, and I certainly couldn't warrant a moderator there.

Now if the Sythe RSPS did happen (which it's honestly a great fucking idea) I could see for many more ranks/systems with in-game mods. That's something I'm highly hoping for, but I'll just have to wait and see.
