Task.

Jagex recently released the new task system. This system generates random tasks for a player to do every day, i.e fletch 210 yew longbows, kill 21 enemies of combat level 260 or higher, etc. If these challenges cost money, they usually take the items you made (in this case, you will lose the 210 yew longbows, and get a reward that is worth about the same).

Today, I got a task to burn 320 Magic logs. At the rewards, it says I only get firemaking experience and a spin of the SoF. This would be a total waste of money (430K), unless I get alot of firemaking experience for it.

What I'm asking is, should I do it or not? I've got about 15M now, sold the rest of my cash. Has anyone got a similar task and done it? If yes, how much experience did that get you?

It depends on how bad you want to level firemaking. Honestly you can get 99 firemaking by burning Willows for almost nothing. but takes forever. So slow and cheap or fast and expensive.

 

I say don't do it, it's not really worth it, and firemaking is extremely afk with bonfires now anyways, so no, not really worth it.

 

Not really worth it, but I had a task to Smith 210 steel daggers, and did it anyway, even though it cost me around 200k to do, just to see the exp rewards.

I got about 7k exp from the actual smithing, then I got a bonus 12k exp from the challenge guy, and I also got a mystery bag which contained 108 raw rocktails, which practically made my money back, so in higher level challenges I reckon the mystery bag is usually a lot better, but I would just burn Willows tbh..

 

I wouldn't bother, in all honesty sounds like a big waste of time.

The Delve into Daemonheim or whatever is a crazy amount of Exp. My task was to do one floor on wave 1 complexity, and I got 70k exp for it (lvl 82 Dung). Might not be the same for Firemaking.

 

The exp reward is normally good, maybe you should just cut the logs yourself? Save money and get FM exp?

 

Usually, the ones that require money to spend also give a "random bonus bag" or whatever. These bags usually completely reimburse you for what you had to spend.
