    Which VPS to use?

I want to start using a VPS and was looking around Sythe and a few other sites.
I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me your opinions on the following VPSes and recommend any/all that you have/do use personally.

    http://www.bottingvps.com/
    http://www.photonvps.com/
    http://www.gigatux.com/

And which OS should I use in the server? Does it matter? Which do you recommend?

It all depends on how much you know, universally though more ram is better and less data transfer is better. If you don't need someone to babysit the server because you know how to use linux/unix/whatever then it will cost less than if you need a babysitter.

You would want a high ram package because the bot will use lots of ram and very little transfer as transferring clicks is a very small amount of transfer, and lots of runescape is decided locally which uses ram as ram is the fastest local transfer rate that is universal.

If you wanted to give a cheap, Linux VPS a crack, check out yourdomaingoeshere. I can get 3 Powerbots going on the $9.95 option, 1, sometimes two on the $5 option.

    Get from this guy:
    http://sythe.org/member.php?u=204813

Use centos if you are familiar with it; it is cheaper than windows. However keep in mind most botting clients provide updates to their windows users before centos users.

I concur. The Black Tux is great, he offers great customer support and it's really cheap. You will have no problems with him and he offers rsgp as a payment method:p

No such thing as permanent VPS. These are expensive. People may offer discounts if you purchase 6 months +

Anyways check out my VPS! Cheapest price around.

Buy a cheap computer, never turn it off, put a UPS so it doesn't die if there's an electricity down, also expect your ISP to work always :p

    Which VPS to use?

Yea, but aren't there some bad parts to this method?

    1) Much larger initial investment required.
    2) Cheap PCs generally (pre-made ones at least) are cheaply made and therefore tend to break eventually, esp. if running max # of bots (will wear out components quickly.
    3) Spend $ for power, and since PCs cheap, use power-hungry components.
    4) This kind of goes with #2: Aren't servers designed to be on 24/7 (except for maintenance)?

Just wondering..... The above is why I'm leaning toward VPSes.

Yes, dedicated servers and VPS of course are 24/7.

    But there's no lifetime renting.
