Why are there all Black college's?

Ive always wondered why there are all black colleges? In a time when everyone screams equal rights no segregation ect... I mean im not 100% sure but i dont think there are any all white colleges or asian ect.. Why is there always a double standard when it comes to black people? I understand what our country did to them 100+ years ago with slavery but, now were equal so lets start acting like it...

I had a personal experience when i was in high school. i got into a fight with a black kid for throwing a pencil. He didnt mean to hit me with it but i didnt care at the time. after the fight he called me a cracker and i called him a dirty foot nigger among other things. I was expelled for using racist language plus the fight. He was only given 2 days ISS. The main reason i was kicked out was because i called him a nigger. Yet i defended myself and explained that black people call themselves niggers all the time in songs, passing in hallways ect... I was told its politically incorrect for a WHITE kids to call a BLACK kid a nigger. WTF????? im not racist it was just a spur of the moment thing after the fight he called me a cracker and i responded with the same racist shit. Opinions on the matter

 

Theres a difference between nigger and nigga. The first is racist, the later can be used the same way the word "man" can. Its still unfair that you were suspended longer. And if there is an "all black college" its private and they have the right to make it black only. You can start your own college and make it white only, there are all white and all asian colleges. But just because a college or school is predominately one race doesn't make it segregated.
Also racism still exists today with the majority of it being towards blacks in USA.

 

Historically black colleges and universities don't limit their admissions to black people.

i find some of your statement to be extremely funny. have you ever been to jail or bootcamp for 6+ months? the majority are black, and just about 90% of them were racist to the fullest. I caught 6 months extra time because i wouldnt deal with the cracker shit they'd say. I find blacks to be 10x more racist. Its all they ever talk about. Im just tired of hearing people pull out the oh its cuz im black card. enough man up and stop blaiming "the man" for your problems. there are extremely successful black people in the world who worked for everything they have. oh and btw the word nigger can mean any color any race. The ignorance that people associate it with only blacks is ridicilous. The difference between nigga and nigger is 2 letters the meaning is still the same.

First of all 75% of what you said had no relation to what I posted... I have been locked up before and I know how it is, but you can't accurately apply your experience in a jail to the whole USA. People in jail tend to have the same mindset, that doesn't mean every black person has the same views as those in jail. So that whole rant you just did about jail was unnecessary.

Nigga and Nigger are two different words. The meaning is not the same, you will get two completely different reactions when using them towards a black person. That last statement was ignorant, the two letters aren't the only differences between the words.

 

Funny they can call us cracker all day everyday and as soon as someone calls them a nigger your done. I always wonder why black people call each other nigger(not nigga) all the time if they don't want other races to call them it.

 

you are correct what i meant by saying is that most black people that ive had contact with are racist towards white people. It is no longer whites hating on blacks the script has been flipped. I know theres a different mindset for black people when you say nigga or nigger. To me its completely stupid and you cant say everytime you go to say nigga you dont slip or mistakenly say nigger, Talking to friends and such. Would you still be offended if i called you a fuck nigga or fuck nigger. In my experience blacks dislike being called either. They ultimately have the same meaning.

 

In my opinion i find it to be complete ignorance on their part. I find it only to be white people they have a issue with using the word. Spanish say it as much as africans do. Why would you want to call your fellow man a nigger when thats the term their "slave owners" called them. The term cracker comes from the slave owners cracking the whip. I usually dont find it offensive. I think its funny their ultimately just letting me know my fellow white man owned them at one point. If you want to blame any1 for making this word "cool" point your finger at the commercialized bubble gum rappers like lil wayne and kanye west. They are the ones promoting this ignorance.

 

I never slip up and say nigger lol. I would be offended if you called me a fuck nigga or fuck nigger because you put "fuck" in front of it, which is an insult. But if you just called me nigga i wouldn't be offended. Usually when someone says nigger towards a person they are confused or they mean to insult you. It depends on the context.

Nigger means ignorant, or at least it used to.

I believe there are all African-American colleges to avoid racism. Yes, we're all equal, but that doesn't mean there isn't racism surrounding us. (Obviously.) I have no logic behind it though, just my two cents.
