I need help finding some good 4 year colleges to apply to that offer doctorate degrees and a biology major. My grades have never fallen below a 3.0 GPA and I think my highest GPA in one quarter was either a 3.47 or a 3.5. I took my first SAT last year and got like a 1400-something, I know I did terrible but I was sick and didn't feel like being there. Im retaking my SAT's but I'm not sure if I should wait to retake them which will be on Nov. 2 because I was hoping to apply a little early for a better chance to get in. Im trying to get in somewhere with a nice diverse campus that is in the United States. I live in Maryland and my parents can afford most colleges.

It would help us a lot if we knew what state you live in and your financial status for starters...

Out of state will be more expensive..

I would apply to the best of the best though just on the off chance that you get in. Nothing says successful like an Ivy League education. Plus, you're up in the Northeast, so they're all relatively close.

Your GPA and SAT is super low, no offense.
It may be because my area has really low expectations, but someone with your GPA and SAT score in California would only make it to a community college, possibly a state university IF that SAT score goes up.
I have a 4.0 WEIGHTED GPA and a 2260 SAT score and I'm worried about college apps :(
It's a competitive world out there...

This. If you're wanting to get into a good college i recommend you going to a community college for at least a year, busting your ass to maintain a 4.0 and transfer from a cc to a university.

This is actually a very good strategy that MANY people I know do. Go to a community college for the first 2 years of college, and then you can transfer easily to a very good university as long as you maintain a 4.0 in those 2 years of college.
However, the only drawback is that only lower less-demanded majors are offered to transfers, such as English majors or some history major. If you're fine with majoring in something that's not under huge demand, then go for it.

You can change majors regardless, the two years you're enrolled in a community college are merely to dismiss your basics so that you're not spending the money for a 4-year to learn Math, Science, English, etc.

Also, if you plan on transferring out of state, most universities require you to attend a community college in that state. I.E i attend University of Washington, i have multiple friends who attend here out of state, they were required to attend a community college in the state of Washington then transfer into a university here - University of Washington.
