Automobile section in off topic?

Not sure if anyone else agrees, but I think it would be cool to have a car section in the off topic sub forum.
You could post pictures of your vehicle, get help on your cars, post what you have done to your car, etc..

Idk how many gear heads there are on sythe, but if there is few this would be a cool sub-forum. I personally love cars and would love this section lol

 

I don't know if this would have enough activity to be warranted. People could post what car they have and thats about it apart from people asking about how to build a car or what parts to use. Maybe a moderator should clarify which section automobile discussion should go in?

 

Just make a pinned thread about it, not a whole forum.

 

Considering most people on this site are years away from even owning a license...I don't think this section would be very active.

 

I think this would be too much of a specific section.

Video clip section isnt super active, why have that then? You can use that arguement for alot of the sections on here really.

I dont see a reason it shouldnt be supported, as it would take an admin seconds to make it, and would cause no harm to anyome.

This. Even an unsticky, unofficial thread that only contains stuff on cars would be fine.

Then to that reasoning, any suggestion for a new section in off-topic should be approved. Then the mainpage would be loaded with unused subsections.

With the same reasoning however, tons of sections should not exist.

Honestly I think a car section would have way more threads than all of those combined. People love cars, and they love to talk about them.

As for it being to specific, I can understand that point, but look at the programming section-


A section for each programming language? Why not group them into one called "programming"?

 

A sticky couldn't fit everything about cars. I'd like a car section, however there hasn't been enough threads clogging up off-topic to put one in.

 

I think Sythe has a taste for that forum.

I do think that this is a little different, there's only a limited amount of resources that can be supplied to the community. But there's too many for it them to be put into another GFX subsection.

Kind of a new subsection. Many people feel that the Xbox section needs a revamp of some kind though.

Again, I think Sythe has a personal taste for this forum. I think it's too inactive for a bunch of sections myself though, but that's another suggestion entirely.

The point is, Cars already fit well in the General Off-Topic section. I mean I do think Assets and Investment would fit into General as well, but that's already been implemented.

No support. I've not noticed a surge in car-based topics, and there is currently one on the first page. There simply isn't enough activity.

 

An automobile support thread that was stickied perhaps? This is pushing the limit for the numerous reasons above.

 

Wouldn't hurt if the thread was stickied for a bit of time and we can see how active it is. It only takes a couple of clicks to remove the sticky.
