Coffee Made From Shit (No, Really.)

That´s crazy! I wonder how it changes the coffee beans to be digested in that way.... maybe there are health benefits.... people that live in the wild eat deer scat....

 

Sadly they don't have the rich man's equivalent for tea.

Can't stand coffee.

 

It's got something to do with the chemicals inside the coffee beans. That's all I can understand from researching.

I've only ever enjoyed iced coffee, and that's not exactly real coffee from what I know. Tea's where it's all at, with a lot of sugar though for me

 

Wonder if the little guy gets a cut of the profits

 

I have family overseas in Asia, they have an operation producing these Luwak coffee beans. I went to visit last summer, and it was a really cool experience learning about the whole process.

They offered me some.. but I don't drink coffee at all so I declined. I wish I hadn't, I missed out on a rare experience.

 

To me coffee already tastes like crap. I'm not going to pay more just to drink crap that is literally crap.

Not really, depending where you are from. I enjoy iced coffee only because you can barely taste the coffee lol. It is heavily sweetened compared to normal hot coffee (Tim Hortons).

 

I have heard of this coffee and its very expensive.

Would love to taste it though.

Who ever did think of that was really smart. It can't be massed produced or anything so there wouldn't be much competition against him/her.

300-600$ for a pound though? Ridiculous.

 

Do you crush the beans or does the water just filter through it? Shouldn't be to bad as long as it is cleaned very well. Obviously if it was dangerous then they wouldn't be able to sell it.

 

old news, they've been doing this for years, they also use fish to fertilize rice fields.

 

I've read about this, and hear it's some of, if not, THE best coffee in the world. Never tried it as I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I hear it's good (but expensive)

Altho how is this much different from any other food you eat? It says the beans are cleaned and dried lol. A ton of foods you eat are grown in soil that use manure as fertilizer.

 

My urge to drink cofee has dwindled.

 

I don't think most of the people responding realize how any of their food is grown or processed.. Also, KMJT, iced coffee is simply iced coffee world-wide. Sweetening it and using milk or creamer is individual preference, as are all other additions.

 

I would most definitely try this. They obviously drink it and pay so much for a reason.
