You're completely missing the point. Why did that person call you a dick? Obviously you did something that made them feel that way, and if you truly wanted to improve as a moderator then you should try and fix that situation, and if you don't want to improve well then there is a problem.

 

ok, I will improve as a moderator and fix that situation from the hugely insightful piece of feedback they have given me.

Again, why should I pursue something after they are rude to me?

 

Because you are a global moderator? I'd hope you could be less petty than that.

 

So instead of doing what my global moderator position requires: which is to handle disputes, Scam and spam reports, SL discussion, Etc. (as you so kindly defined for me recently) I should pursue these members via PM or whatever to find out what they really meant when they called me a dick out of the blue, despite never speaking to me ever about the situation, not knowing JACK ALL about whats going on or why?

No it's not... you don't see FireZ doing that every time someone insults him. Why should Karl (or anyone for that matter) care if someone calls him a dick? It doesn't fucking matter, ignore it.

And I would say the same thing to FireZ. Disregarding members comments simply because they are "misinformed" or "don't matter" is extremely unprofessional, and I really don't think Richard would be happy to see his staff doing that.

 

Maybe this is what YOU would do, if you were staff. You would actively go out of your way to PM people and ask why they don't like you, when really you shouldn't care, at all. If Karl and FireZ (and others) want to go and see why a person doesn't like them then that's their choice, not yours. If a person doesn't like you, big deal, not everyone is going to like a person, there's always haters. I fail to see why you care so much.

Okay now you're annoying me, don't put words into my mouth, I didn't once say they "don't matter", I already explained to that guy on this thread how he was misinformed.

if being unprofessional means to correct someone whos posting libel to the public, then i'm unprofessional, because thats all I did, he said I was targeting cookiezzz, and I explained what was actually the case.

Welp, you just keep on proving my point further. Why do you even bother being a moderator if you don't care what any of the users have to say? You do it as a volunteer for the people of sythe right? I'd hope that's why you do it, but it seems you could care less about what anyone has to say.

 

Maybe he cares what other people have to say, when they are complete thoughts.
Not when someone does something for a reaction, or for the hell of it.


But these are my thoughts, not his.
Even if I believe them to be accurate since some people act like a nuisance for fun.

 

Because I don't like this thread and some of the feedback thats posted on it doesn't mean I don't care, if I didn't, I wouldn't run IRC where i'm given feedback directly all the time, deal with constant Queries about moderating stuff despite not wanting anything like that on the channel/network - again, you're making brash, harmful assumptions, like everybody else. Your feedback isnt constructive, its anything but, its offensive, and libel.

 

I am not making any assumptions, I am going based off exactly what you're saying. You are being extremely unprofessional, and your excuse for that is so what I don't care. I don't care how many people will defend you simply because they've been conditioned to do so, anyone with common sense can see how you're acting is unprofessional and should be addressed.
