Does God exist?

No god doesnt exist.
Jesus,Muhammed etc were all philosophers who wanted the world to be a better place. So they had to tell them there is a god who will punish you if you you dont follow theri rules.
Before Muhammad women in arabic country had no rights and were killed in their childhood becouse it was to expensive to feed them. People diseased by many bacterias and were killed by the lightest diseases.People did what they want becouse they werent afraid of consequenzes, becouse there were no.
But Muhammaed wrote the Quran, wich seems to be very strickt in your eyes but it helped the people in the past to live in harmony.
I was a muslim too but i cant believe in god for some reason but i still follow the most of the rules written down in the quran becouse it helps me to be a better person.

Does God exist?

Your English.. <...
Anyways, you do put in some good fact, even though I don't believe in "God".
A Christian or whatever could say something along the lines of:

Oh but Jesus was sent down by god to become such a philosopher as you say and show the world what is needed and how to be ran. Therefore your whole statement means nothing.

Now, I believe the Quran and the Bible are just book of morals/ways to live your life so people have hope for a better future.

Does God exist?

This thread has been arguing ad infinitum for the past 10 pages. All I've seen is conjecture, jargon thrown around, the rape of circular reasoning, and desperate attempts to cite for intellectual leverage.

I don't know where everyone learned to conduct an argument, but you want to keep your opinion accessible, free of jargon and fallacious elements as much as possible.
_______________

It’s undeniable that as time has moved forward, that the majority of theists have transitioned from hardline fundamental beliefs (Jesus literally walked on water) to modern reductionism (walking on water is a metaphor). The similarities in the long list modern faiths are much greater in number than the differences. Most advocate the same policies (peace, family values, etc) and only differ in their worshiped deities. Based on the geographic roots of the major religious strongholds; the Ottoman Empire held formidable population of the followers of the Islamic faith, while Europe were the most adamant proprietors of Christianity. That is why Islamic people gather Mosques and Christians gather Churches. The natural inferable reason for this is because the congregations of both prefer mingling with people of the same cultural identity.

Making someone feel comfortable is the only reason why religion has lasted so long. Prior to the accessibility of the internet, as people grew up and found employment, they became disconnected and were locked into routines. Socialization at work was often stale and would more or less devolve into talking about work (ie. Sally in accounting got laid off) or other uninteresting topics. This isn’t to say that work relationships turned out this way, but figuring out what your coworker’s interests were with trivial to no knowledge about them is very difficult. In short, work relationships were boring and made people feel uncomfortable.

Faith provides a remedy to those who decided to join. Meeting every Sunday at a Church provided the opportunity for people to socialize with others with a common interest that was not as stale and cutthroat (work relationships). This people environment was very welcoming and hosted lots of fun events like banquets which bolstered its popularity throughout the past few centuries. While these communities were very welcoming, they would likely judge the fuck out of you. Even if someone did not completely believe in the Bible or the Quran, or whatever scripture a religion takes from, they wanted to remain on positive relations with this community. And so, because of this people would either pretend or strengthen their beliefs in order to affirm their level of acceptance (peer pressure theme of social politics). This lead to many cases of mass faith conversions of families in order to build favor with the religious institution they belonged to.

Fundamentally, religions are the cumulative existence of hundreds of thousands of social clubs. These social clubs sold themselves on the “fun” principle of their environment which lead to many generations growing up confused with their faith, and with the advent of the internet, these same people (but not limited to) were given an treasure trove of misinterpreted knowledge and avenues of pretentious jargon filled rants which converted them into the emotionally driven keyboard warriors which commonly refer to themselves as atheists (many of which have posted their biased opinions on this thread while bashing the validity of faith institutions).

Informal arguments on religious integrities always draw from a small pool of conclusions.

 Science will prove it doesn’t exist some day
 Science has already proven some aspects of religion wrong
 The potential use of every fallacy ever created
 Some quantum mechanics bullshit or it's "just too complex to create"

I don’t know what called for a reposting of this topic if op already knew the never ending cycle would renew. Arguing religion is class one in one of the most fruitless topics you can argue. There's so much gray area and unexplored territory that all you can do is continue to pull conjecture from thin air. What good does it do to question the integrity of religion to begin with? All you end up accomplishing is creating subcultures and putting barriers in between them. If something brings someone else comfort, what right does an outside party have to judge?

Present views that you, yourself, quantified before you "chime-in" or bash on the theists who weren't prepared for overly complex jargon (which serves no practical purpose in debate), cynicism, and ego boosting. The purpose of discussion is to further your horizons of a topic, not stomp someone drawing from a smaller knowledge pool than you into the ground.

Voted yes. I don't consider myself religious and comfort my fear of death with science. But there has to be some sort of room for faith, though I don't plan on exploring it at this age and don't think that humans will ever have any idea what it is.

Does God exist?

I am presuming you mean the Christian "God", not the other thousands of other man made interpretations of "God". My answer is still going to be no. People would like to believe there is life after death, or the threat of ice giants, but I have no such faith. I don't read a book or watch tv and assume everything or anything to be true.

Does God exist?

Of course it exist. However this thread is pointless as all you will generate is a lot of discussion leading no-where. There a lot of different religions and most of them doesnt believe in god, however there are others that do indeed believe in him.

I don't think anyone can answer this question. Some people may belive that he exists but that doesn't make him real right? I'm not sure if he exists, I do belive that when we die we will come to some kind of After Life.

Does God exist?

If God doesn't exist, how did we get here? And how did any theory happen if this was a vast land of nothing before God?

Does God exist?

Well, and afterlife can exist without God. God not existing doesn't preclude an afterlife.

I'm sure you have parents. Also, this isn't an argument. Just because you don't know how we got here, does not mean God did it.

As a good christian, you would want to enlighten those who don't believe, correct? Please show me that God exists; I'm open to it if you can give some good arguments for his existence.

Does God exist?

Question, you say "before the big bang the universe was smaller than an atom", lets suppose thats true, what is said atom contained in?

I have my beliefs. I believe there is a higher power, or maybe i just hope there is, because i would absolutely love to see how the universe plays out after i die.

What's the point of this thread anymore man? Can we just say it's an unanswerable question and be done with it? I know you wanted to liven up the section, but this is getting really stale...

Does God exist?

It's not an unanswerable question. When you claim a question is unanswerable, you are giving it respect from a rational point of view. You are treating an arbitrary concept with some sort of respect, and neglecting the onus of proof.

Put it this way if you clearly don't believe in Gods existence because there's no empirical evidence, logical proof, or what not, why would you ever entertain it as a feasible hypothesis? It deserves your respect no more than astrology or Scientology.Unlike God, at least for not believing in astrology, I won't necessarily have a 'bad day', or for Scientology be flooded with engrams. No, with God, I'll burn in eternal hell... unless I convert on my deathbed (depending on which flavour of God one believes in, there are many of the same God!)
