    Jagex Cracking Down
    Most private servers don't require to much effort to train a account and have fun pking or doing what ever you enjoy. I'd rather play real runescape but that's not going to be possible soon. When the new combat update comes it will be ruined in my mind and just won't be the same.

    They have every right to shut down private servers. It's blatant copyright abuse.

    I haven't noticed any increase in popularity of private servers lately.
