Did anyone see the Eagles vs. Ravens game today? Was a great game.

I think it's finally the Eagles year, their defense is the best it's been in years. They definitely proved themselves today. If everyone can stay healthy (mainly Vick) they're a terrific team and the only competitor in the NFC I see is the 49ers.

The Ravens, well they're already a good team and everyone else in the AFC is playing kind of sloppy (Patriots).

Yeah I agree. I just watched the Pats vs Cardinals game and I think this can be attributed to excellent special teams by the Cardinals, few too many errors by the Patriots and Tom Brady. Tom Brady seems to be... Past his prime. There's no other way to put it. He has a seeming reluctance to move around apart from dropping back and moving up into the pocket. I saw at least two times that Brady (not the best athlete) could have probably ran for a first down and just slid to avoid a hit. I don't blame him for the interception. When balls get tipped, shit happens.

Atlanta deserve some credit. Their defensive coordinator is out of this world. If you didn't watch the Atlanta-Denver game you need to watch the Atlanta defensive highlights. Peyton had no idea what the defense was doing as there were always 11 falcons moving around and shifting positions. Peyton threw 3 interceptions in the first quarter because of the great defensive strategy Atlanta produced. Matt Ryan reminds me a lot of Brett Farve out there. He's incredibly football-smart and often goes with the no-huddle and last second audibles to fool the defense. I see them in the running for the Superbowl this year

You do realize that Dallas is the Dallas Cowboys and their quarterback is Tony Romo? :p

3 interceptions, damn. I had a strong feeling that the Broncos wouldn't be contenders as Peyton still had to settle into his role after 600+ days without playing a game, not to mention his age. Basically though, I think the Falcons should have done better than they did last year aswell. They looked pretty decent then, and they look decent now. Interesting to see where they will end up.

Yeah, my bad. I meant Denver. I always mix those two up. Yeah, peyton is rusty but he played damn well in his first game. Regardless we played great defense up until the 4th quarter where we settled down being 20 points up. This match up against the Chargers this weekend seems like it'll be a defying point in our season. If we win this upcoming game I think we'll go far for sure.

Edit: I updated my previous post with a clip on atlanta-denver game. Also, the Broncos have a strong defense and we penetrated with 27 points along with a high scoring 40 points against the chiefs. We've always had a decent offensive game and now that our defensive game under our new defensive-coordinator looks a long stronger I think we're in for a winning season (finally!)

It was a joke. Calm ur titties. Obviously I know Falcons and Texans arnt in the same division. The AFC South is Texans, Jags (Beat them this week), Colts, and Titans. We are currently the only 2-0 team in out division and are only one of two 2-0 teams in the AFC. As for the falcons, they played well last night, but I would say the best Falcon's player was Peyton Manning. I mean 3 interceptions in the first half. C'mon you can't say that Atlanta's defense caused all of those, Peyton is just old and past his prime. I think that Broncos will soon become an easy win for anyone playing them. I wouldn't just assume that Atlanta is super great becuase they beat a team with a new QB who just got back from recovering from his 3rd neck injury. Peyton won't even lead the broncos to the playoffs this year. He can't even throw spirals anymore. His condition is very poor, despite what the newscasters may say. You could tell he was struggling to throw those deep passes yesterday.

Doing well in 1 quarter won't win you a game. Nor does it mean you are an elite quarterback. Any quarterback can have a quarter of godlyness. But only an elite quarterback can maintain his talent for the whole game.

Agreed 100%. I only point out that he did well in the 4th quarter because that's when Atlanta played "standard" defense and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan kicked back and just watched

Yeah looks like Falcons have played harder games so far. I guess comparisons can be made this week when the Texans take on the Broncos also.

You can't gloat that the Texans are best in the AFC South. Jaguars? Blaine Gabbert is a joker. Colts? Andrew Luck shows promise but he needs to adjust to the pace of playing against starters. This is also a team that came last last year. Titans? Jake Locker is okay I guess. Seems like Chris Johnson is doing a shit job this season so far.

I'm not sure if the chargers will be able to maintain their 2-0 though.

Gotta disagree here, I mean look at Tim Tebow. Plays well in the 4th quarter and wins games by 2 points.

Basically though I don't agree with the notion of quarterbacks performing poorly and mounting a comeback in the 4th quarter meaning they are elite. Sure it creates theatrics and looks spectacular if they pull it off but it really equates to they were playing shit early on and finally got their act together in the last quarter usually. Especially with Tim Tebow, he's a publicity magnet but useless at NFL.

After watching the Texans vs Jaguars I'm not 100% sure what you are talking about.

I'll start on a light note, as you said the Runningbacks were good, I liked Ben Tates finesse. Their defense was generally good. Now for the negatives: Schaub is a crap quarterback. I saw him throw one pass that was about 15 yards deep and this was his longest throw, all his other passes were all checkdowns around 5 yards deep. Schaub would be absolutely nothing if it weren't for his running backs which caught most of his balls (what the fuck these aren't wide receivers?!). They displayed good ability to make yards after the catch. I honestly don't know why they even bother sending their receivers past the 10 yard line though, they automatically void their chances of getting the ball. Also when he did try it about to the 10 yard line there were too many inaccurate throws considering its such a short distance. He didn't even bother to throw the ball further than 20 yards, likely knowing it will be an interception. Regardless of their constantly checking down the Jags seemed to not adjust which I found bizarre. I could envision the Texans going to the playoffs and being down in the fourth quarter with like 2 minutes left. Due to Schaubs reluctance to throw the ball down the field at all they'll end up running out of time. I almost guarantee it.

The Texans are based around our running game. yes, we do have Andre, but he is always double covered. This leaves one man open most of the time and Schuab does a good job of finding the open receiver. Even though a lot of passes are to our tight ends and running backs, they still get many yards after the catch. It isn't like Schuab can't complete long passes, he just knows that it isn't worth risking any mistakes, especially because we were up by more than a touchdown most of the game. Because we got the early lead, we played the rest of the game safely. I don't think it matters that the passes were short, as long as they were caught and eventually turned into points on the board.

    Thanks,
    Anet390/Andrew
