    Sythe - Everyday dealings...

When I first came to Sythe, it was mainly to look for an account that I wanted to buy. I was into training accounts, and then turning around and selling them for a profit.

Now, I use Sythe for the above reason and I also like to make new friends within the community. Some of the threads do strike up great conversations. :)

Originally I came to Sythe for the market too, mostly in order to purchase cheaper membership. After a couple of months though I peaked out into the community and I haven't turned back. After a few months of posting around and being active in the community I became a User Educator, and for a majority of 2010 I was on the team there helping out. Helping out, making friends and just chilling in the community is what I love doing now :)

I came here in 2010 to buy a Pumpkin, and ended up hanging around because I enjoyed the site and it was a convenient way to purchase RSGP.
There are a few people I miss who were banned, such as Rabs(Kind of a shame I didn't stay in touch with him)
As for my intentions here on sythe, I currently am bored of Runescape, and its unknown if i'll ever get back into it(I could say I won't but you never know) So I have no current ajenda at present

Originally came to sell Puzzle Pirates PoE in exchange for RSGP. Pretty soon after that I decided to try out gold reselling and it was pretty fun. For the past couple months though, my main priority has been working on my RSGP gambling website *points to sig*

Right now I bot RS gold and sell it to the asian goldfarm websites, by botting I mean my local computer is running a bunch of scripts and I have a VPS that runs some bots on it too. The gold is 100% unsafe so I just dump it into gutter for cheaper anyways rather than fuck people over here.

I sold d3 gold for a while when it was selling, buying rares and IDing them was making some profit at the beginning of the game and then on top of that just buying and selling gold ect.

This. The people here are great.

Do you make much? Or just for a quick few bucks every week?

Sorry to hear you got scammed and it's sort of scared you away from the market :( Not everyone's a scammer though! ^_^ And oh that's cool man. I've seen you in the spam forum a couple of times.

Seems like loads of people came to Sythe mainly for the market :) Much like myself. You sound like you had a good little money making method (training accounts and selling them). Good to see you're here to make friends and get involved. I've spoken briefly to you before and you seem like a good guy.

Sup Brendan ^_^ You've got a really interesting background I must say. "User Educator" sounds amazing. How come you got it taken away? I've never seen anyone else have it, did Sythe stop doing it?

I see you helping out people all the time man and it's great to see (even though the occasional time I've beaten you to a post! :p ahahahahah). See you around man!

Yeah it's nice to come here and just post around a bit to get involved. I'm pretty new so I don't know who Rabs is or why he got banned :( It's horrible when you lose contact with people, even if it's just over the internet. I've had it happen myself.

I'm in the same boat when it comes to RS. I'm bored of it and doubt I'll go back unless it drastically improves. See you around man!

Ah awesome :) Gold reselling does sound pretty awesome. I might look into getting into the business sometime in the future as It does spark an interest. And Your sig looks cool man, if I was a gambling man I'd check it out but I've not really been into it >_<

    See you around!

Yeah Sythe's great man. It's nice when you get to know a few people and see people around :) Also, I can imagine you're really busy with Uni. I'm in my last year of school and doubt I'll go uni. I have the potential to but never really been eager to go so I don't think I'd benefit from it. I'll look for a full time job to do with ICT when I leave at the end of this year, can't wait to start earning a full time wage!

Also, I need to donate sometime soon. I've been meaning to do it for ages. If you remember I did post on your thread a couple of weeks ago o_O

See you around man :) Hopefully speak soon!

Oh nice :) I've read a few guides about setting up VPS' and they seem really good for gold farming. And that's good to hear that you're dumping it elsewhere, makes the gold selling on this site a hell of a lot safer!
Sounds like your making a nice bit of side money, why not if you can ;)

    Thanks for everyone's responses.

It got taken away because the administrators felt people were just applying in order to get the rank rather than to help the community :(

It also had pretty obnoxious requirements to keep it. At least when I had it.

They requirements kept changing. I'd still like to see it back, maybe a somewhat modified version possibly without the rank.

Oh I see :( Yeah it would be nice to see it come back! Hopefully as you said a modified version (I smell a suggestion coming on here...). Who knows, I guess it's up the Admins to decide though whether or not they feel it needs to be implemented. I doubt people would abuse it, I think they'd more so want to help out more (which is always useful) to try and get acknowledged as a User Educator? Or people who help every single day and post around to answer peoples questions get it as an acknowledgement, and so others know that they can specifically send them a PM to get the answers they're looking for or to get help for something.

From what I remember 'most' people only applied to User Ed for the rank. There were some that kept out putting decent guides to the community but others just did the bare minimum to uphold the rank.
Although I felt the idea of making guides was pointless anyway, I would of rather the rank be named something along the lines of 'user friendly' or something equally as quirky, to suggest helpful and approachable, giving you a wider range of help when you can't get hold of a mod.(Although nowdays you have upper staff such as N4N0, who goes out of his way to reply to pms)

wasnt it revived and renamed at one stage without the ranks? Can't remember if they had the same requirements when they did that?

Drifting apart from people is an inevitability, its a shame it happens but there's not really alot we can do :(

Well its been nice to meeting you, I hope you enjoy Sythe =)

I really don't think any of the current staff (At least the ones who would be could make an impact on its return) are really keen to see it back, which is really disappointing. I was very close the UE and believed it did bring good to the site.

There were definitely the rank-whores who brought a bit of shame to the UE by only applying to get a rank. There were definitely legitimate users who joined in the hope to help others. Wulfspade1, Lukef555, R33L2R3AL, Dalpra and Magic Arrow - Just to name a minority. But you're right, i think the use of a User Education system today would be less effective than previously done.

Yeah it was, Community Assistants. The rank remained, however to join the team you just had to link helpful posts as well as complete a minimum or one guide (Not Five.)

I won't ask anything about how you know so much.

It's no secret, I requested all my posts on my other account to be deleted, but while awaiting a final reply from Verts, decided I'd just make a new account with a name I prefered :p

    Sythe - Everyday dealings...

I got on here looking to sell some skillers I had back when I was barely 14. Once I realized that people aren't interested in my petty level 50 skills I was so proud of, I pushed myself on Runescape to make better accounts, thus burning myself out on most of my accounts. Now, after four years of having my Sythe account and being inactive for about 2 of those years on and off, I am more of a reader/lurker/reporter than I am an account seller. I believe I've sold one account, and trained just a few people's skills, and quickly realized that there is much more to Sythe than the black market.

When I was UE, you had to put up a certain amount of guides per month, which was absurd if you think about it. 5 well written guides, capable of getting you the rank in the first place showed you earned it honestly.

I mean you eventually reach a point where you simply don't know what to write guides about, and honestly the best way to really educate users is replying to their posts anyways.
