Recording Runescape Videos

Hey, recently i've needed to make a video of Runescape and most people have been suggesting I use Fraps.

Not sure why, but whenever I load up runescape the fps counter disappears and I can't record my screen. Is there anyway to make Fraps record RS footage or does any recommend a better software for screen recording?
