iPhone 5

Agreed that they didn't make much progression with the iPhone 5 TBH...nothing much to hype about so I guess I'm sticking with my iPhone 4 which I have grown to love.

 

Basically:

The S3 has better:
Outside Storage (optional up to 64GB card)
Battery life
Front camera
Larger Screen
Higher screen resolution (720P)

The iPhone 5 has better:
Weight (lighter)
Body Materials (Aluminum)

They are about equal with:
Price
Quad-Core Processors (The 5 is too new for benchmarks for me to compare)
4G LTE
Primary Camera (8MP)
1080P Video Recording
Internal Storage (Besides 64gb for S3, however removable storage evens it out)

A lot of customer appeal may be related to the OS's each of them carry.

 

I own a S3 & I won't be upgrading to the iPhone 5. I was watching the keynotes on the phone & what not and I'm more interested with what they have done with itunes.

 

Uses the same processor that's in the new iPad's too.

NOPE!
It uses the A6 chip and the iPad 3 uses A5X.
It's not known if the A6 is a quad or not.. I guess.

 

The funny thing I find about iphones are that when released, there are always news articles about them having brought nothing new into the field.

I wonder why they're so popular though

It's obvious the iPhone isn't performance wise the best phone on the market, but people have this mentality that it's and iPhone and that's what they're paying the extra for, the name, the brand, the OS. I've used both iOS and Android and while I can use both easily iOS is a lot easier especially if you want to store music on your phone. Android however very good if you know how to use it properly.

 

I'm pretty disappointed with Apple. I'm not an Apple fanboy or anything, but you can't deny that they do make an easy to use device that almost anyone can use. They really do integrate the software and the hardware together quite well. However considering they've had over two years since the iPhone 4 was released (Probably there last good phone) and the result is basically the same thing except the removal of the glass back and the phone being taller is ridiculous.

Feature wise, 4G? An apparently faster chip? Both have been around the market for at least a year now.

 

A6 is a dual core chip.

I was one of those tools that pre-ordered one Thursday night. Apple is straight up giving me $170 for my current phone. Why wouldn't I get this for $30?

I know we didn't see revolutionary features come out, but they are not mediocre in anyway, I'm not disappointed. I've used apple products for years now, from iPods and iPhones to computers and software like final cut. Apple doesn't disappoint when it comes to their products, it's the reason why iPhones, iPads, MacBooks and other apple products are so sought out.

 

I know that Apple made a good device..…
But, they more of just improved the software. When Samsung and Android and Nokia got those quad core CPUs and other stuff…

I fail to see how people see the value in apple products as a whole. Let's start out by taking a look at macbooks. They charge upwards of 1000 dollars for a computer worth around 500. The iOS is highly inferior to the android OS on almost all levels, except for simplicity. The specs on the Galaxy S3 absolutely destroy the iPhone 5, and the only things the iPhone 5 have over the Galaxy S3 are siri and the High Res screen.

This. All they do is bump up the hardware a little, claim the screen is like .2 inches bigger and over hype it. Anddd Bam. The biggest marketing scheme known to man.

 

I disagree. People associate them with high quality and they just aren't. They have the populous tricked into believing that since you pay more you get more and you don't. All the extra money just flows right into Apple's profits that are ungodly high. Other companies make much better products for much less.

I'm eligible for an upgrade, and I've always had an iPhone. Not really sure if i should buy the iphone 5 or galaxy s3. is the s3 available on ATT?
