Has anyone been banned/rolled back recently?

I just wanna know if it's safe to bot, as I'm intending to for at least a few days.. I saw some kid on the forums saying he got rolled back and a J - Mod replied in the thread saying it's not a glitch and he knows what he did.. AKA he got caught botting. Has anyone else gotten in trouble with Jagex recently? I really want to get a few summoning lvls before the nuke.

 

Botting is always risky.

^ Well your reply doesn't help the slightest bit. Botting was/is virtually risk free in 2012. I just want to know if anyone else has been caught recently, it might mean Jagex is actually caring again.

I'll probably be using a MWaterFiend script from powerbot.

 

Pretty sure they aren't rolling back anymore. It's either one warning then a ban or two warning and a ban on the third.

 

I probably wouldn't use MWaterfiend until it gets better. Such bad failsafes. Clicks charm, clicks waterfiend, clicks charm, back and forth and so obvious that you're botting.

 

There was a 1-3 month period where Jagex did a lot of rollbacks on xp/gold but this was a new thing for them to do.
Since that time (many months ago) they have not done any/mass rollbacks as much as they used to.
I haven't heard about any rollbacks in a VERY LONG time.

 

Bans have been low lately, but as soon as Jagex releases Botany Bay this month, expect ban-rates to soar.

 

Nah neither. It seemed after the nuke they were being heavy handed with their rollbacks but they since discovered that they don't work.

How do you know they are releasing it this month? Last I heard they hadn't confirmed when it was going to be released.

 

They mentioned it in September's Behind the Scenes, and they made a video about it. Also Jagex's twitter and Facebook said to get ready for it. Much of the community thought it would be released on the 11th -- but it wasn't. Any day now, I suppose.

In my opinion, botting right now is quite safe, but this Botany Bay update is looming, and Jagex claims they will be able to detect botting software very easily.

 

That does not confirm that it come out this month, it just means it has not come out yet and is coming some time in the future. Also I'm skeptical about how effective Botany Bay will be at detecting advanced scripts. They can appear like they are making a big stand against botters if they ban people using poorly made scripts.

 

If it's in the BTS for this month you can pretty much assume it's being released this month But it might get delayed..

1. It was in the "Behind the Scenes September" video
2. Mod MMG said on the last day of August that they will be releasing it "over the next few weeks." Few = ~3
3. They are having a Live Stream where Jagex's CEO & Lead Developer will be talking specifically about the Anti-Botting system and Botany Bay tomorrow at 9pm GMT time.
4. Mod Mark said they will definitely be releasing it before EoC

The only reason why it would NOT be released this month would be if they randomly decided it won't be released on time, an all that would do is bump it to next month. They haven't delayed any Behind the Scenes projects in a long time. Trust me, if Mod MMG made a post on RS's homepage, then it will definitely happen.

Also, part of the new system will be tracking mouse coordinates. This means that if your bot does not have mouse movements that pass as human, then you're pretty much screwed.
