Latest Marijuana Trend

So we all know
marijuana, not addictive, not so harmful to your body, is not bad etc etc

I remember that the majority of members discussing MJ on Sythe in proposition of it, but nowadays, I feel like a lot of Sythe users are starting oppose it.

Did I just manage to read only the threads with people who are opposing it (am I being ignorant?), or is this the latest trend?

If so, what's your opinion on this happening?

I think marijuana is treated as an evil drug, when, it is in fact relatively harmless. When we consider alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, marijuana doesn't even compare. That said, there are side-effects of marijuana (as there is for anything, even your simple painkiller).

I really just think this perception is down to ignorance as a result of the propaganda spread by the media, government, and so on.

I don't think it's bad. And I smoke like every other day. Actually I'm kinda high now lol. It's not addictive

 

I don't believe it is any worse than cigarettes or alcohol, but that being said as those two have downsides so does marijuana. Anything that throws off the chemical balance of your brain is going to have negative effects in the long run. Same goes for caffeine as well.

 

Without even scrutinizing medical effects of it, this can be concluded with the fact that 95% of jobs will not hire you nor keep your employment if you fail a drug test.

smoking + drug test = no/termination of employment = no future

 

honestly feel like i see this thread 5 times a day.

anyway, its not not harmful, that's just a thing people say. the long-term mental effects can be irreversible and impact alot in the later stages of your life.

Marijuana makes me want to eat pizza not people. People still fall for this propaganda just like in the 30's its sad.

 

I don't have anything against it, I'm always around people who are smoking it, but I just don't like doing it myself, I can't handle it; literally two goes and I'm stoned already! Just makes me want to sleep and I'm the kind of guy who would rather have a few drinks and be more lively. It's a lot better for you than alcohol and tobacco and other 'regularly' used drugs, but my opinion is that in the long run, the physiological effects are more over powering than that of smoking tobacco regularly for 20 years or so.

 

I've never smoked it, but know people that do. It sounds like one of the less harmful drugs, but at the end of the day they're still having a negative effect on your body, especially if you smoke it on a regular basis.

 

I started smoking marijuana when I was thirteen years old. For some people, it causes them to be lazy. I, on the other hand, am quite productive when I am high. I've never noticed any negative effects after smoking it for five years. Also, marijuana is addicting, habitually speaking rather than physically. There have been no recorded deaths from marijuana in all our history. I personally have been arrested for possession of marijuana. I took the fall for a "friend", which was stupid of me. Luckily, I had an awesome lawyer who got me through it all, and he managed to get my record sponged. Currently, I am a month clean from smoking marijuana. It was my decision to quit because I feel that my current job isn't paying me enough and I'd like to get a better job than what I have now.

As for the autopsy on the "Miami Zombie", it is false that they found him on marijuana. He was actually smoking potpourri, a mixture of dried, naturally fragrant plant material, used to provide a gentle natural scent inside buildings, most commonly in residential settings. It is usually placed in a decorative wooden bowl, or tied in small sachet made from sheer fabric. Some potpourri contain similar compounds that are found in marijuana, which may have been found during the autopsy.

 

id just like to add the name "bath salts" is a type of LSD not actual bath salts you buy at your local stores

 

You dont know what you are talking about... not at all "bath salts" is a synthetic most commonly modeled after methamphetamine. Not LSD.

OT weed is great, seriously its helped my social anxiety soooo much. I was previously prescribed xanax for it and got addicted and a bunch of bullshit insued, little did i know that the solution was this wonderful all natural herb. Granted being stoned 24/7 isnt smart, soon ill be joining the military and have to stop dreading it tbh but if you are able to smoke and enjoy it i see no harm in it whatsoever

the potpourii they found in his blood isnt just a mix of dried fragrant plant material .. its so called "synthetic marajuana" sprayed with chemicals (usually a jwh-018 derivitite or am 2201) that produce somewhat similar effects as marajuana. marijuana would probably be a last resort when you're retired since if any case your job random drug test you or you're looking for a job for a drug test

 

Its cause people are stupid and believe everything the media tells them. Marijuana is probably the most harmless recreational drug you can take (not completely harmless obviously but the least harmful I suppose) depending on how you take it.

The only reason Marijuana is illegal is because of racism and the beginnings of plutocracy in America.

Secondly "Bath Salts" are no where near anything close to LSD, bath salts are similarly structured to MDMA (Active ingredient in ecstacy), however the pyrovalerone acts as a much better stimulant than amphetamines.

 

That's many people's problem... It IS harmful in the long term. So there is a harm in smoking it. Yes it's prescribed for medical uses but it doesn't mean everyone should smoke it. I don't really know your case that well but if it helps you then I guess that's your decision whether you smoke it or not. Why are you stoned 24/7 though?

I mean I've never smoked it myself and I know a couple of people that do and it stinks like fuck, nobody would even employ you if you went around smelling like weed (well I certainly wouldn't anyway). As Nero said, anything which causes an imbalance in the chemicals in your brain is bad for you; in this case the long term.

Another thing which annoys me is people who think they're the fucking baddest person in the world just because they smoke weed. I see NOTHING big in it at all and people who smoke it just because it's deemed "cool" by their "friends" is a total fucking idiot. A lot of the time weed leads to trouble, and is often associated with gangs. Which happens a lot in the UK. I;m not saying this applies to everyone who smokes it but I know someone IRL who thinks it's cool to smoke it and only brags about the fact that it's good for him. Yes in certain medical situations it can be good for people but in the long terms being high 24/7 is bad. Bad for a few reasons. One of which because you're less likely to get a job because most people link this to criminal activities which I talked about earlier; another reason because it stinks like fuck and isn't a pleasant smell at all; and thirdly you're spending money on something which is pointless.

Yes this can be said for alcohol and nicotine too, and it's totally right. If you're drunk 24/7 how on earth can you expect to get a job? You won't, that's the truth of it. It's the same with weed, okay people have arguments that it's disadvantages are far less of a health risk than drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes but it's still bad for you.

I have no problem with people smoking it if they want to and they be themselves. I do have a problem with people who smoke it because they think it's cool; people who think it poses no health risk at all; and people saying it's not wasting their money.

 

Weed can be addictive, it can be psychologically addictive, like how video games can be.

 

No it's not. LSD is Lyseric Acid Diethyalamide and is structured no wheres close to bath salts.

 

First off if you read my post you would see i said being stoned 24/7 isnt smart, so i would be against it, people needing anything 24/7 are dependent on said substance and are obviously using it as a crutch for some sort of greater problem.

There are ways to "smoke" it without any actual burning of anything ie: varorizers cooking with it ect making the whole "smoking" stigma and ONLY harmful affect of marajuana mind you out of the equation. And there is ABSOLUTELY NO proof of THC being harmful in anyway. In fact its been shown to bee ANTI carcinogenic.

Agreed, anyone who thinks using drugs makes them cool is sorely mistaken. Most people <16 get the fuck over themselves and quit bragging about it though, many highschool age kids seem to love bragging they smoke weed as well as a LARGE number of people on sythe. These people are attention whores plain and simple looking for anything they can latch on too and associate/align themselves with to boost their credibility and or cool factor. Its quite pathetic really.
