why on earth does sythe feel the need to.

put all bot talk in the bot section in 1 thread [ refering to yoho's ]. I mean this is the rs cheating section what else is there to talk about? Not to mention the following.

1. His list is incomplete.

2. he could easily switch out one of the links with a phishing link [ not saying he would]but with lots of people who will post and none saying that its a bad link un-educated people will just be click happy.

3. if you're looking for a particular script or trying to find out about if a script does something or feedback it's quite hard to talk about when there will be 30 other people posting their problems.

4. sythe staff have enough problems trying to clean-up the sections [it often takes 24+ hours just to see a bad thread locked] so you really think it's a intelligent decision to make a post like this where you will need to waste quite some time on just this thread to weed out all the flame wars pointless posts ect. which you know will happen and then on top of that lock all the posts that should be in that thread and stop all the flame threads? just seems like a lot of work on the staffs part which they already have trouble with.

EDIT: I will say though, his post is a good idea I just don't feel there is a point to limiting all bot\script talk to that thread.

 

generally the bots specific forums are a better place to go, and you avoid the general "what is the ban rate" and "how do I download a bot" questions.

 

There is a runescape cheating section. Use it, no one says or inferred you have to use his thread its simply a list for reference and questions pertaining to those CLIENTS, theres a runescape cheating section a simba section ect ect.. however as bob said if you have too specific questions you should be going to the bots site as we have no direct affiliation with any of them.

 

I come here to find out what a good farming bot is that everyone here uses. I get it closed and told to read yohojo's thread. I know what the powerbot script link is and I know I can search all the threads to see which one works good. But I ask here to see which one everyone recommends and which one people have actually used. No point in having this section if it relates to bots and then we get direct to just go to the bot forums for the scripts.

 

I personally think it's a great idea of Yohojo's. Why should there be multiple threads about bot clients when they can all be in one place?
Yohojo is a respectable member of the community so he WOULDN'T put in a phishing link at all. There's more to talk about in the RS Cheating section other than bot clients... Look at the threads that are in there already.
If you think his list is 'incomplete' then go on over to his thread and tell him some bot clients/websites to add to his list... that's what the thread was created for and that's why it's a sticky.

To address point number 4; Moderators will have an even harder time dealing with hundreds of threads about bot clients and which ones are legit etc. At least this way it's all in one easy to read thread...
I really don't mean to be rude at all, but I think this thread is pointless as the sticky isn't going to get deleted any time soon. That's why it was made a sticky in the first place as it's deemed important and necessary

 

That's my mistake, I'll reopen your thread now. In the future, shoot me a pm or whichever mod closed your thread and give a brief reason why it should be opened and more-than-likely we'll reopen it.

About the sticky, personally I'm not gonna be the guy locking a bunch of threads and redirecting people to that one sticky. I'm still a firm believer in the idea that there can be productive bot-discussion threads that exist outside of a sticky. From what I can tell, the sticky is just a list of bots. It doesn't say what's good/bad about specific skill bots (which is a large reason for the creation of threads in this section) nor should it really, given that that would just be one person's opinion.

In summary, don't worry about this section being reduced to a single thread. I won't let it happen and I'm pretty sure the other rs mods won't either
