    Street/Derelict Photography Assignment

I received this assignment from uni to capture 5 images of any objects/locations you desired and make them into a suitable photo set. I went with derelict and street style photography. We were supposed to keep the post production to a minimum, just mainly to resize them and leave them. I shot these in black and white to keep with the theme.

    What do you think?

Those are my favourites as well. I am definitely going to produce more work like this, I'd rather shoot black and white in film, though. We were only allowed to shoot digital in this assignment though.

The last one is incredible! I'm not saying the others aren't but it looks very professional. As Simaas said, the man seems to fit in perfectly :p How long have you been doing Photography? :)

Edit: Looking back I really like the black and white effect too... Makes the pictures look really nice :)

the last one (and the one before that) are just crazy good :) you should keep this up. going with bnw was a very clever idea tho; wouldn't have fitted with color.

You seem to do a lot of high depth architecture photography, you should look into tilt-shift, it'd really enhance the interest of you're shots. Without something more exciting than just black and white, they're a bit ordinary. Well-captured shots, nice composing, but still just ordinary. keep it up though, they're looking good

Light bleeding would add a cool alternative to the color scheme. I know the B&W is to fit the streets theme but just for any future work you do, light bleeding gives another sort of cool feature.

Also play with over and under exposing your shots if you are using a DSLR camera. Used correctly it can add great effect by playing with the lighting and the mood.

I think they are all brilliant apart from this one, it doesn't appear to be run down enough etc to match your theme. Nice photography regardless man.

    Street/Derelict Photography Assignment

Thanks a lot, I've been practising photography for about a year and a half now. I'm a photography student at university.

    Thanks a lot

    Thanks so much

Thanks for that, it's my favourite as well
I'll definitely look into it, yeah

Yeah I agree, that's my least favourite. I was trying to give a subtle hint by showing the shutters down to the right. Thanks for the input

I'm using a Canon 1100D for now with the 18-55 kit lens, until my Canon 7D arrives.

For film shooting I just use an old Canon 300 which I picked up for £15 with a 50mm f/1.8 II

I really liked the last and first. I like how you took shots with people as well, makes it feel more real.

Yeah I tried to get a person in each photograph, only managed three though. The one with the fly-tipping has a person only slightly visible in the background. Thanks a lot.
