    Is it possible to do bulking/cutting phases in 2-3 week intervals?

    Hey guys i know that bulking/cutting phases are suppose to last a few months for acutal body builders, but im a 16 year old who just wants to add some weight/size, for rhis move to florida/football next year... and with it being so close to summer i dont wnna go straight into a bulking phase and lose all my definition right as i hit the beach.. so i was thinking 2-3 week intervals would help with

    Getting weight for 3 weeks...
    than cutting the fat for 3 weeks....

    and repeat, know what im saying?

    and i would appreciate it if only people who have been involved in some sort of bodybuilding or bulking/cutting would comment.. i dont find it very helpful if random joe who did p90x for a month to get in shape tried to give me advice... THANKS.

    When you go through bulking and cutting phases it is the most beneficial to do it long-term. Bulking is supposed to be a seasonal thing, maybe the most beneficial in 6 month periods. The key is to eat more than you burn, and an ideal weight gain is approx 1-2lbs per month.

    Doing it for 3 weeks and then shedding for 3 weeks defeats the purpose because seriously, how much muscle do you think you're going to gain in 3 weeks? and then spending another 3 weeks solely to shed the fat? You should know that you can't shed fat and gain muscle (very very difficult to ascertain).

    Just my advice, I'm currently bulking and have been since approx February and probably won't stop till October.

    3 weeks bulking and 3 weeks cutting is utterly pointless in my opinion, especially the 1:1 ratio. I'd say that your bulking/cutting regimen would depend on your body type, for example, I would say an ectomorph should spend more time bulking and less time cutting, but an endomorph should spend more time cutting and less time bulking.

    That said, you could do a clean bulk, and considering you're 16, you will gain muscle very quickly relative to someone who has been bodybuilding for over 1 year.

    Do you take any supplements?

    You have a complete year to train up bro, you don't need to cut now. I'd recommend you to bulk man, you won't lose definition... Just bulk and I'd recommend you to start taking some creatine after you have cut if you really want to and then start bulkin with creatine before the start of the game. Just do some basis excercises right now like Squats, deadlifts and bench. Cardio and endurance is important bro, dont miss out on it.

    Yeah i kinda figured it was pointless like you guys are saying i just really want to get bigger but dont want to lose definition like my abs, especially since im about to move to florida...and its summer!

    but to malak, i have been working out for over a year, acutally probably about 3-4 years.. i just never approached it like a body builder..

    What do you mean by working out? Working out as in gym, moderately heavy weights at the age of 12 wouldn't be the best idea in my opinion; certainly bodyweight exercises are great though.

    There's really not much to bodybuilding, it just takes dedication. You workout to stimulate muscle hypertrophy predominately, and thus exercise with a weight allowing an 8-12 rep range. If you want to be a bit more serious, you'll get your diet in check, namely protein. Taking it further is when you do the more 'complex' programs.

    Lol, if you want real aesthetics it's all about consistency, hardwork and patience. 3 weeks is way too less even if ur on a cycle

    yes this is possible, you should visit bodybuilding websites more experienced people better advice.
